The last couple of verses are especially powerful. The line, "PS...I love you...your sister Jewel", cuts right through me. Sometimes It Be That Way- Nice pace to the song. Great lyrics. Near You Always- From the first few notes, I knew this was a great song. Probably my absolute favorite Jewel tune. Jessica/Emily- I'll just list both of these together, since they're basically the same song. If you've heard either, then you know why they're on my list. Fragile Flame- Also known, of course, as "Fat Boy". While I know this song isn't particularly well liked among EDAs, the "Mtv Unplugged" version of this song is great. It absolutely breaks my heart every time I hear it. Violet Eyes- Very pretty. My Own Private God's Gift To Women- Completely unlike anything else Jewel has recorded. I never thought it was possible to put that much attitude into one song...until I heard this. 1,000 Miles Away- I wish I had a better copy of it, since it's so amazing. It definitely deserves to be on an official album some day. In fact, I've never understood why it wasn't on POY...oh, well. I don't even have JuelStock, which someone (Hi Megan...) was going to tape for me, but as I said, I didn't have time!!! Anyway, I also wanted to talk about Crouching Tiger. I didn't like it too much, but I really loved the, well, love story. I wasn't satisfied with the ending, but it fit the storyline, so I was like, cool. I love Michelle Yeoh, and I didn't expect much from Chow-Yun Fat, because he's not a big martial artist if any at all (Jet Li is so hot). The women, they kicked so much ass. So what did I hate? The heavy usage of wires to make the characters seem like they were flying. First of all, wirework is not anything new. Even Jet Li has used them, and even though he's cool, he looks corny in wires. Second, they used so much of it and I'm just like, "Yuck". It's hard stuff to manage, I don't know why they use them. You know what I REEEEEEALLY wanna watch? Billy Elliot.
