There's this awesome site I just found, like.com, that lists what famous
celebrities like, from exclusive interviews.. Here's the celebs who
mentioned Jewel.. I think the site's newer, so the celebrities could grow
soon..

Oddly enough, TiLo, singer from Methods of Mayhem (Tommy Lee's new
group...imagine that) lists Jewel under "Current bands you like" and
"Classic bands you like".. How she got into both, I have no idea.. He must
just really like her..

Amber, the popular club artist, lists Jewel under "Current bands you like"..

Leldon, from the rock band One Way Ride, lists Jewel under "A person you
would like to meet" and "Artist you would most like to spend a night with"

Miles Zuniga, singer/guitarist from Fastball, lists Jewel under Artist you
would most like to spend a night with"

I'm sure if Jewel hates touring she hates it just as much in the US
as she does in Europe. And I'm sure she appreciates European
audiences more as we sit and listen to her sing and not scream
at her which is what happens in the US.

excellent Ride With The Devil. Well he's followed it up
with probably one of the best movies ever, the
incredibly brilliant Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

If you haven't seen it already I'd recommend you try
to find it at your local movie theatre, don't wait for a 
video release, it's far more spectacular on the big 
screen.

i know by experience after going to 14 jewelshows that she is always kind,
although her concerts in california in september were great, she could have
taken a bit time for her american fans ??? she didn't do this and went
immediately after the concert backstage and didn't even say hello or little
autographing session!

I think Jewel loves to perform in front of an audience of enthusiastic
fans....why would she otherwise decided to become a recording and performing
singer songwriter. Jewel likes as Chris pointed out the silent crowds in
Europe because at least we got the obligation to listen to her songs rather
than to scream through the songs!!! That is just cruel to be
honest.....Jewel performs and sings with passion and of course a little yell
is normal but totally overnoised yelling is ridicolous...

Yes, I agree. I've seen this movie 3 times(hehe), well, probably just cause 
it's at the theater I work at! It's one of my favorite movies. This is 
definately the years best picture, and the music from the movie is just so 
amazing, I can't even describe it.  If you get the chance, download the song

I agree with cymbie, no one here was trying to be mean, or saying she
doesn't like her European fans, they were saying that she doesn't like to be
far from home for long periods of time, who does?  They were just saying
that might be one of the reasons she doesn't do much promoting there, as
someone mentioned... it wasn't an insult, and I don't think it's necessary
to turn around and insult the US fans either, and say Jewel likes her
European fans more because they are quieter...no one was talking about her
dislike or like of fans at all.  I'm sure *anyone* can understand not
wanting to be far away from home for long periods of time *especially* in
places where for the most part, people don't speak the same language as you,
it just makes you more homesick, it has nothing to do with her fans
personally or even Europe for that matter, it has to do with travelling,
touring, and missing being home.  When she tours in the states she probably
feels a little less homesick because she's around people who speak the same
language as her, and if she gets too homesick it's just a short plane ride
back home, but in Europe, she is pretty much stuck there because in between
concerts she doesn't have time to fly home, it's too far away.

I find it hard to even read the mail that gets passed along on this mailing 
list.  Some of it is sooo ridiculous, I can't bare to look at it. I haven't 
replied or posted anything for about 6 months, because ever since I've been 
on this list, everyone finds it necessary to bicker and complain about what 
Jewel is doing.  Gosh! I can't believe someone would want to take a break 
from something! You have her music, you have her books-- why can't you just 
be patient and wait for what's coming next?

I'm sure Jewel would want you guys to live your lives... so go out and do 
something for the good of yourselves, and quit worrying about whether your 
vcr is going to skip recording Jewel's next television performance.  I'm 
sure Jewel loves her fans, but I think you guys are a little too obsesive 
about her.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jewel a lot, but my life doesn't revolve around 
her.  I look to her for inspiration, but I don't depend on her to keep me 
going.  Jewel is her own person, as am I, as are you-- copying off of her, 
and watching her EVERY move isn't going to make you a better person.  I 
can't even say what I want to say because it's so frustrating watching you 
complain about her not doing anything.... oh no... 19 long months.  Within 
those months, she's released a book, made television appearences, released a 
movie, and fallen in love.  She's another person just like you and I, so let 
her be that person and make her own decisions, and quit relying on her to 
make your life more entertaining.

to all of the bickering eda's for a long time. we are supposed to be a
