But as I read it over I reflected and realized that jewel wrote cdtd with her own perspective on her life. Everyone has a different outtake on their own lives. LIke someone's parents may have a different out-look on their own lives and the life(lives) of their children, then the children. It happens in almost everyone's life. You parents and relitives may think you (the child) has a wonderful life, but the child might think otherwise. Didn't jewel say she let everyone in her family read the rough draft of cdtd before it was edited and put out for release to the public? Obviously something is wrong here. Either someone held back feelings, or maybe the artical is false. Newspapers do that sometimes. But we'll never know. The person who wrote the artical must've had harsh feelings towards jewel and her celebrity. But theirs always harsh feelings in families all the time. Sometimes they blow over, sometimes they don't. Only in the kilcher family they have the "luxurary" of putting their feelings out into the public where the public gets the view them. Personally i think it was horrible to publish something like that to a newspaper. If someone has a problem with jewel and her book and whatever else, contact her in public, don't involve the public with personal disputes with family members.... that's just horrible, harsh and wrong. just thought i'd say something. have a nice day. love Diana the earth angel (\o/) /_\ ___________________________________________________________________ "Live bravely, love bravely. I cannot help but laugh when I read some of the remarks attributed to some of Jewel's family back in Alaska in regards to how they feel used and, in past posts, forgotten. It's ironic that these comments come from the some of the same group that basically used Jewel and rode her coat tails with that now defunct kilcheralaskastore.com web site they used to have that pretty much just sold their wares. That site _only_ came to be due to the success of Jewel. By the way "bitter Kilchers", Jewel's web site _often_ has publicized your creative arts. They should stop their bellyaching and realize that a small and relatively short book, with short passages cannot encompass an entire life. Jewel's book touched upon many parts of her early life. Some of it was painted with a dark brush, some of it a light brush. Seems to me that the "bitter Kilchers" have lost their light brush. I don't think anybody should have to hold their tongue about real things that happened to them. Now, if that's what is bothering her family then they need to stop whining and look within their own family to find the true problem. And maybe that was part of the problem. However, I think that their greatest complaint came from the fact that Jewel didn't have the facts straight and didn't even want to talk about them. Like the "crazy checks" thing. And that she focused a lot on the down side of her childhood. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 20:34:02 EST From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Walk away hey angels i don't know how many of you have heard this song. I think by Joy being such a piece of pro-religion nonsense, that is what is selling out. She has retreated from her folk roots and her belief in an internalized god concept("We are that to which we pray") to mindless, conformist Christianity, the worship of a character in a novel called The Bible. So, yes, you are right, she sold out, to Christianity, the largest money-making religion in the world.
