I had so much fun last night! I can't write too much right now because I have to go to school in twenty minutes (it's 7:30 am!), but I tell you, even my dad liked the book reading that wasn't a book reading but a long interview. And my dad doesn't speak English. But he caught the interviewer and Juel talking about how ::gasp:: she lived in Alaska and I bet he now thinks I want to go to Alaska because of Juel but it was actually because of Julie of the Wolves... Anyone read that book? It's about a girl in Alaska who didn't like her life so she ran away and found this pack of wolves and eventually they let her be part of the pack... My name is Rebecca 20 years old and I'm from Amsterdam (yes, i'm dutch, so please don't mind the misspellings), I've been on this mailing list for about 9 months now, but I've never sent a message myself, but now I've got a question for the American Angels (I guess the most of you are American). In may or June 2001, I'll come to the states for my job, for about a month. I can tell you that I'm a huge Jewel fan (I'll spare you the details) and I think (please, correct me if I'm wrong!) that the chance that Jewel is comming to the netherlands anytime soon is like 1 to a million or something. So I'dd love to see her perform while I'm in the states, I'll have to stay in Austin Texas for about two weeks, but after that I will be able to travel, does anyone know if she already has shows planned then? Or could you please tell me later on if there's some news, so I can buy my ticket (online) on time? I'dd really appreciate that! I hope I'll hear from you, thanks! Love, Rebecca. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 11:19:58 EST From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Jewel song... i wanna fall hey angels Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Hey guys, I forgot to mention... Last night at the reading/discussion with Jewel; someone asked her if and when she will put out a new album. I was so glad that someone asked that! She told us that she is now working on a new album. She isnt sure which songs will be chosen (prolly by the record label) for it - she said she has written MANY new songs with different sounds (rock and folk). Also she said the album will come out sometime next year and there WILL be a world tour to follow!! P.S. she mentioned that her favorite new song is called Bonnie and Nick (something like that). I cant wait to hear it! Kelli The city angel _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. The first record was a time-frame of who she was then, according to her in interviews.. And then in 1998, more than two years ago I might add, she wanted to make a calm, soothing album to remind everyone that everything would be alright, also according to interviews with her. She said she is a better live performer than studio artist anyway, and she has grown much from then. You can tell just by her live acts. She's much more calm and relaxed now, like she was in the earlier days. You could sense the uncomfortability during the Spirit days.. I'm just saying, don't underestimate Jewel's power over her own material.. She's sold over 15 million records in the US alone, plus overseas totals.. She wouldn't put out things that she's not comfortable with at that time.. scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. I think all artists should just have their own labels (alot do), and produce themselves, so that what THEY want on an album will go on an album. Record companies take too much control in deciding.... and I think it should be up to the artist. Like how Atlantic wanted a certain song (I think it was a song called "tough girl"?) to be a single.... but Jewel didn't like it? Jewel (and other artists alike) should be the ones to decide what goes on an album... gets released as a single and so forth. anyways.... thats about as wordy as i'm gonna get now.... cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 17:48:55 -0500 From: "cymbaline" Subject: Re: [EDA] correction: JeweLink: November 27, 2000 Is it an Oprah show?
