Wow, it's going to be hard to keep EDA politics off the list after such a politically charged show especially during an extremely politically charged time for the US-- well I just wanted to comment on the fact that Jewel had notes written on her hand during PI (which she really didn't try to conceal by the way) - -- I wonder why she did that-- I think that she is intelligent enough not to need a cheat sheet for a talk show-- Any one else have thoughts on this? - -- Chrissy The 4'10" angel (first time I've done an angel name-- I think I'll change it next time though : ) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Nov 2000 01:12:55 -0600 From: "Karacostas, Derrick W." Subject: [EDA] PI Well Jewel looked nice on the show...simple, yet effective. I've always been partial to the straight, no frills hair vs. the wavy "locks" look. I also thought it was cute how she had her "notes" on her hand, kinda like back in the day when she'd do that for her set lists. Or how a 3rd grader might do that to ace that tough exam....hehe. Anyway, I don't know if she used her notes or not, but she didn't say a whole lot either way. I got the impression she only jumped in when she did because the producers told her to. The talk show guy was doing most of the talking though...odd isn't it? haha. Anyway...nice show, nice to see Jewel back in the spotlight again, promoting her "new" Christmas CD too...haha. What is it with this? First Letterman, now Maher....guys, this CD is about a YEAR old now? Hello? Someone wake up these people. LMJLMA 2. Satellite also i have been kicking around the idea of an Eda gathering in New Orleans....anyone interested???..i mena i dont know what we could come up with btu it seems like we should have oen there..email me if ya think tis a good idea! :) I think that will end my rambling for right now! pleasent thoughts & purple insense to all! :oP Wesllow ~The Redstick Indigo Angel~ "My best advice is don't eat spam for awwwiillle" :) - steve ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Nov 2000 07:45:22 EST From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Jewel on politically incorrect hey angels-- I'm not sure if i taped politically incorrect last night. Did anyone watch it? I did!! I noticed that she had some notes written on her palm. Good thing that they didn't imprint on her face!! LOL... that would have been horrible.. She seemed very nervous at first b/c she was fidgeting with her hand a lot. She had funny things to say, but not very much!! She didn't get much time to talk.... That guy next to her talked a lot. But, she was great. I didn't notice she had anthing written on her hand as someone noticed, but I did see her looking down in that general direction a few times towards the end. i just assumed she was kinda sheepishly looking down while everyone else was kinda bickerin' over stuff (i kinda do that too), but she might have had stuff to that she wanted to say on her hand (cuz, she might forget once the show started). you can tell she is the entertainer of the group as she was the one who stood out the most (but, of course I'm a tad biast). and she looked very perdy too... yeah, so....there it is, tom the "cactus" angel http://mypage.goplay.com/tippasaurus "Or, 'You're such a nice guy' means: 'I'm going to be dating leather wearing alcoholics, and complaining about them - to you.'" -chandler bing _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. I don't think the tour had a "name" but they toured quite extensively together at the time. I didn't stay for all of his show either time. She didn't say much, but >>she had a few good comments. >> >> -katherine I saw the episode as it aired around 12:30. While it was interesting, I actually liked Prager better than Jewel on this show. That might be because he was the only panelist who would even consider Bush with a grain of salt, and wasn't all the way peachy on Gore. Tells you my political views here, but I felt rather cheated over a need to have a rather biased panel of esteemed persons. Jewel being one of them. I didn't notice the notes on her hand, but I did notice the volume of her laughter. It seemed forced in some cases, but that is understandable with sitting next to Bill Maher at times. All those jokes just don't hit right all the time.
