Pretty neat stuff! I have alot of repsect for the workers down there. I've helped with one gravity-fed water system, and it was a BIG pain in the butt. And to be digging it all by hand, that takes deadication. I've dug alot of ditch, and even more pipeline, but the most I've ever dug by hand was way under a mile in length. I'd love to help in a project like that, but I guess I'll just have to wait until they find a way to get my trackhoe in there! =Þ Ya'll should check out the slideshow... It will remind you that water is sometimes very hard to get! There was a county down here in texas this summer that ran out of water. With less than a fifty days of conservative usage of water left, and a shade over twenty miles to the next water source they were in a real bind. But everyone pulled together, and the ditch was dug in about four days, with over half the pipe layed in that time frame. The short of it is that the county, and town (well, there isn't much in that county, except that town) now have water. People came from as far south as San Antonio, and a few people all the way from Chicago, just to help dig a ditch for a town of 1006 people. It was a very touching thing to see.. anyway, ya'll take care rowdy anyway, take care rowdy >From: MrBB >Reply-To: MrBB@jeweljk.com >To: jewel@smoe.org >Subject: [EDA] MrBB: Message From Shane Kilcher to The EDAs >Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2000 17:23:55 -0400 > >Hi all, > As promised, I spoke to Shane Kilcher and Clearwater regarding the EDAs >interest in continuing last year's EDA/HGH project. Dearest Angels. This whole comment about Jewel coming out and using such language as a pick-up line is totally not worth our time. Are you people who reply seriously to his posts completely new to the internet? "Ronald I. Nam" is what is commonly know as a "troll". This is some one who has nothing better to do than join a list which he has no interest in and post garbage that he knows will upset the uninitiated. When this joker starts talking about his "period" and about how individuals on this list are threatening him with a "butt-plug", I can't help but wonder why some of you reply to him. HE IS A TROLL and a fairly good one at that.
