I haven't really been paying attention to the thread since it's so ridiculous. I've read his message and he sounds like a perfectly nice person. So, hello to you! The CD in question that the one EDA posted about is a 4 year old unauthorized / illegal bootleg CD. The CD is material from a May 1996 concert Jewel had at the Paradise Club in Boston. The VERY same show was authorized to be treed on this list the winter of 1996 as a counter-measure to that CD. It is of EXCELLENT quality and is known as Jewel Rocks The Paradise and is available at the Angelfood Bank at www.angelfoodbank.org along with many other tapes of Jewel music/shows previously treed on this list, along with a few high quality tapes of other San Diego area artists know as the Future Folklore series. Hi all I couldn't help boasting about the fact that I officially live on the "best temperate climate island in the world"!!!! I hearby invite all EDA's to come and enjoy the place that I call home. Those in the US should definitely be taking advantage of the generous exchange rate at the moment! So Dennis, what's stopping you from visiting. Part of the news report regarding this award, to my home state of Tasmania in Australia for the second year running, follows: The State, Tasmania, was named best temperate climate island in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine for the second year in succession, toppling a range of exotic islands in North America and the Mediterranean. The magazine has more than 770,000 readers, and the annual poll is reportedly the largest in North America outside the US census. Tourism Council of Australia (Tasmania) general manager Michael Roberts yesterday said the poll showed that visitors and potential visitors from the US, the UK and Europe were aware of the State's core tourism assets, wilderness, lifestyle and heritage. The Conde Nast survey follows an international award from the Chicago Tribune newspaper naming Wineglass Bay on the East Coast as the world's best beach, and further international recognition of Strahan as the world's best little town. Anyway, just thought I'd say that and hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Also, if any of you live in michigan, I need help of finding places where I might be able to get a gig at. Preferably a paying one. But anything to get me some publicity would be great. If you want to get a copy of this directly as each issue comes out, you can sub- scribe to it by sending a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com Message-Id: ******************************************** JeweLink - The Official Jewel Communications List ******************************************** Hi again everyone, Long before the development of Jewel's official web site at jeweljk.com, many online fans certainly helped her (and each other) immensely by creating web sites of their own. It's been one amazing journey experiencing the development of Jewel-related fan sites and discussion groups over the past five years. We remember when only two fan sites existed and now we've lost count well past 500! It's absolutely true that fans do it best in many areas. We keep you informed about current activity, but fan sites, especially those with message boards, chat features and those that connect people who enjoy trading and sharing other common interests, are essential to the enjoyment of us all. You'll discover that longstanding fan sites, such as Adam Longfellow's "Pieces of Jewel" (http://jewel.zoonation.com/) and Gerrit Kruidhof's "Jewel Page" (http://www.endor.org/jewel/) are not only excellent examples of talented web site design, but also incredible resources for historical information and further exploration. Another such fan web site is Jason Grovert's "Ultimate Jewel Kilcher Site," which adds the dimension of live chat features and message boards for online Jewel fans to enjoy. Many of you may be familiar with his elaborate site from its previous location at jewelkilcher.com. Jason was very gracious in allowing Jewel to recover her domain name recently and continues his good work now at http://www.jewelfansite.com/. We encourage you to explore the wealth of fan sites out there and from all of us on the J-Team: Thank you, Jason. Thank you, Adam. Thank you, Gerrit. Fan sites rock!
