Okay, so a few people send her tapes for free. Thats fine. She's got her collection started. So after that, if she wants more tapes, there is something to be traded. Whether or not she trusts the mail, its only fair she sends something in return, rather than getting all the angelfood for free. (This goes for everyone, not just Wendy) > No one was forced to do anything, and if they chose not to send something > for free, then fine. No big deal. She never expected this, she merely > *asked* this of others. Same thing. Asking for free tapes is practically the same as expecting to get free tapes from someone. > I merely suggested that it would be "nice" IF maybe 10 people could reply to > Wendy about this All she needs is one person to send her a couple of tapes, then a collection is started. > For a friend of mine, Wendy. ("Hi, I see you have "such and such tape, would you make a copy for me. i don't have anything to trade") if you go to an entire group, chances are alot of people won't reply, because alot of people most likely assume someone else will respond. So go to a select person directly. >herefore, I chose to do this hoping some of you would help her > out to at least get some angelfood. But you already did. How many did you send? 5? 6? DDDelight is an OLD bootleg CD. Its been out since 96 or 97. Its not an official CD, and those are old songs. And that quote is Tracy Chapman. Who cares if the person doesn't quote her right? that's not doing any harm to Jewel, or any of you....is it? are you in some kinda hospital thanks to the "wrong" quotes? I think we have better things to do than talk about the "ah" person. don't you think? Someone had sent me one, but it hadn't taped, and it was just blank. If anyone can, that'd be awesome! I've also been trying to find Austin City Limits, so anyone who's able to make me a copy of that, please let me know also. Washington EDA's, Hey. I know that most of us weren't able to meet up before the Puyallup show(i got there late, couldn't find anyone, etc.), but I was wondering if any of you would like to meet someplace, and just hang out, talk jewel, etc.? I was thinking of either meeting at the Supermall, or Southcenter mall(in tukwilla). I know some of you might not be near there, any other suggestions? (those are the farthest places I could go before my mom would get pissed). I just wanted to say that my last post did sound kind of hypocritical and I'm very sorry about that. I guess I just got all worked up and wrote and sent before i had time to think about it. It was an "open mouth insert foot moment". But, if all of you that might have been offended by would forgive me I would just as soon let bigons be bigons (if i spelt that right) and forget about it. I love being an E.D.A and I don't want any sore feelings between any of us. Have a great one. Love Sarah "the michigan angel" P.S I personally think that most of Jewel's songs are fairly easy to play on the guitar. A lot of them don't involve much... I started with Painters... In the library, what will Chasing Down the Dawn be classified under: Fiction or Non-Fiction?? I work at a library so that's why I thought of this. The EDAF was formed in 1997 by members of the jewel@smoe.org everyday angels internet mailing list as a way of channeling some "angel/list energy" into our communities. Among the original filing founders are list veterans Mike Connell (the list owner) and Alan "Mr BB" Bershaw. ;-) Since incorporating as a non-profit in California, the EDAF has organized and/or acted as partners with other organizations for many events around the US including beach cleanups, food bank volunteering, clothing collections, blood drives and walkathons. A major project was the compilation of a scrapbook called the "Acts of EveryDay Kindness", which contains entries from over 100 EDAs from around the world relating stories of charity, volunteerism, and other contributions to the global community. The book was bound and presented to Jewel as a birthday gift in June of 1999. If you'd like to view an electronic online version of the book, it can be seen at: www.edaf.org/kindness/edakbook.html The EDAF has an ongoing partnership with Jewel and Nedra Carroll's non-profit organization, Higher Ground for Humanity. This partnership includes mutual financial and promotional support for each other's programs. Notable projects include the two 1999 EDA awareness building workshops held in San Diego, CA and Bearsville, NY, and EDAF members working with Rock-N-Wrap-It-Up food drives at Jewel concerts last summer. Although founded by list EDAs, the EDAF is a separate entity from the Jewel list, and many of our members are not even subscribed to jewel@smoe.org. However, all of our members are "EveryDay Angels" in the truest sense! For more information on the Foundation, including how to join in our activities, please drop us a note at edafinfo@aol.com. Also, be sure to watch the jewel@smoe.org list and our webpage at www.edaf.org for reminders of upcoming events (the webpage is currently undergoing renovations, but should be back fully online soon). While the majority of our activities occur in the New York/New England areas and southern California, we expect to expand our efforts across the country and internationally. As always, we welcome any suggestions you may have to help the EDAF promote the concept of truly living each day as "everyday angels". Regards, Amy, Dennis and Tom for The EveryDay Angels Foundation ********************************************************* The EveryDay Angels Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit corporation whose mission is to promote grassroots volunteerism and community involvement. The EDAF is online at www.EveryDayAngels.org and can be contacted via email at EDAFinfo@aol.com or by writing to The EveryDay Angels Foundation, PO Box 123, East Petersburg, PA 17520. ********************************************************* ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #318 ***************************
