It speaks volumes about what type of music you must listen to. And what's wrong with bingo and nursing homes. <<< i love it when people stand up for the blessed elderly and for beloved steve in the same sentence ;-) actually, al, i had listened to some recorded steve stuff before i saw the rugburns and wasn't really very impressed. then i saw the rugburns and was blown away. last year, on the spirit tour, i was blown away by steve's solo performance. especially when he played "dahmer's song" for all the little jewel fans wanting to hear about angels and love..... :-) just recently, the day after austin city limits, i saw steve and doug pettibone play an amazing show in austin at la zona rosa. it was so fun of energy and pure love for the game, it blew jewel away at austin city limits the night before. and the jewel show was excellent. you should give steve another chance. he is one of the most entertaining song writers i have ever seen. love, luna wow.... that was the first post from tom morales i have seen in years! something must be going on.... renaissance? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2000 22:00:40 CDT From: "Rowdy White" Subject: Re: [EDA] Spirit Hey ya'll =Þ As for ripping Spirit, and some of her best Lyrics... Well, to be honest, quite a few of the songs on Spirit were written long ago. Alas, I do not have the time to research this completely, but off the top of my head... Absense of Fear, and Fat Boy were both on Jewel Rocks the Paradise which was back in 1996 I think... And Down so Long is from the Innerchange days, and I remember hearing Enter From the East and Deep Water (with the missing Lyric) long before Spirit came out.... So basically, when we state our thoughts about Spirit, it IS about the polished, pop-like quailty. (and honestly, I do like the older versions of the songs I just listed.) anway, just my two cents... take care rowdius >From: Sean1781@aol.com >To: Jewel@smoe.org >Subject: [EDA] Spirit >Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2000 20:36:53 EDT > > Hey everyone, >It seems like alot of people are ripping on spirit.I don't know what you're >talking about.Spirit is an incredible album.True,it is a little too >polished.and the spirit tour did have the same setlists for each show. That >was a little ridiculous, but the songs on that album are amazing.I think >they're among some of the best lyrics she has written.Just look at Life >Uncommon or even Hands.and to compare it to a Christina Aguilera album is >retarded.Christina Aguilera albums are trash. They aren't good for anything >except firewood.Pop Spirit into your stereo and give it another >listen.Great >album. It's known. > later angels, > Sean >PS- That was hilarious Cymbaline..."For the Love of >God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
