I am kinda new to all the eda stuff. I have been recieving letters for a long time, but never really read any. I don't know why I just started, but I did. First of all, I was wondering how old Mykle was. Also, I wanted to tell ZinzyGurl that I will pray for your family. Last, I was wondering if someone could e-mail me back and tell me some things about the eda's. I would like to be more involved. I'm a "newbie" as of 14 September 2000 and I thought I would go ahead and say "Hi" to everyone. My name is Donovan and I'm in the US Air Force. I'm currently stationed in England. I've been a Jewel fan ever since POY came out. I don't have any of Jewel's works besides the POY and Spirit CDs, and the RWTD DVD and I'm desperately looking for more of her stuff but haven't had any luck. Would anyone be willing to send me something? I would be extremely thankful. Once again, "Hi" to all of my new EDA friends! I'm sitting here in the computer room at school in tears about someone i don't even know, it's strange how someone you never even met can effect you. God bless you Mykle, where ever you are! w.h the earth angel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 07:32:39 PDT From: "Jewel Wade" Subject: * Mykle? Hey guys I've been an EDA only for about... 3 months, and I don't really read a lot of the emails (No offence of course!!) But I did read one regarding a boy named Mykle. Now, I guess because I didnt really read the emails, and I didn't really look at the names of who the emails were from... I don't know who he is. But I read the email called "Mykle" and I would really like to know more about him. Please, if anyone could, please tell me more about him. - --Jewel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 08:17:40 EDT From: NikosSong@aol.com Subject: * Angelfood Contest Winners! Hello everyone! Before I announce the winners I would just like to say that I had a TERRIBLE time picking the winning quote/essay. I had it narrowed down to two, but I couldn't decide between them, so I decided to go with both. There are now TWO winners to my contest. I wish I could send it to all of you who entered, but I'm a poor, unemployed highschooler, so that can't be done :). Anyway...and the winners are!: Wes Poche - Wesllow@aol.com Winning entry: "Words are useless. Let me be remembered by my actions"~Unknown (and then some....it was an essay more than a quote...) and Amanda Kuehn - MasterYoda@looksmart.com Winning entry: "I am only human...and that is the best I can be." Congratulations to the winners!! Both of you will have until 5:00 on Friday to e-mail me back to verify your winning. (NikosSong@aol.com). If either of the winners do not verify, the Jewelstock tapes will be given to an already predetermined runner - up. Thanks for making this a really fun contest to have everyone! If you would like to view the other entries, click "View Entries" on this page: EDA Contest. Have a wonderful day! Jenni P.S. If there is anyone out there who would like to think about trading/taping some angelfood with me, I'd be very happy. I don't have very much angelfood, which explains the lack of creativity in my prize. Lol, thanks! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 15:09:45 EDT From: Sean35RL@aol.com Subject: * NJC: EDA Vets = posers & hypocrites I for one am astonished and disappointed at the recent conduct of some EDA vets. Again they show their duplicitous nature and blatant hypocrisy. This group of long-standing EDA veterans have for years, deluged me with nothing but slogans and vows of their efforts to make the world a better place. These are people that define themselves as caring, inclusive people who are trying to make the world a better place through open-mindedness. Well, open-mindedness is nothing but a front to these vindictive, spiteful individuals. At a recent EDA gethering, I, a long-standing member of this list was repeatedly ridiculed behind my back by the same people who for years have begged me to come to more EDA gatherings, be more involved, etc etc. It so happens that a close female friend who knows me well was at the aforementioned gathering and a small band of veteran EDAs blatantly tried to dismantle my relationship with her. After all of their feigned altruism, their petty "look-at-us-we're-so-good-and-pure-and helping people" they engaged in outright sabotage of my character and to a person outright discouraged a fellow EDA(the aforementioned female friend) from spending time with me while defining me as an unkind person unworthy of her friendship and attention. She was my lone defender. What makes this most saddening to me is that these people don't even know me. They've met me sparingly, either at one of the last two Bearsvilles or at the Sessions taping. And after all their handshakes and smiles and "you should come hang out with us more often"s, this weekend I was repeatedly stabbed in the back. These people have been telling me for years how friendly and welcoming and open-minded the "EDA community" is. Well, now I know for sure that it is nothing but a facade. Because I am slightly different than them, because I speak my mind in my posts, because I am an opinionated, strong-willed individual who is more interested in honesty than altruism; these people now find it their duty to "protect" other members of the EDAs from me. If this is not the essence of hypocrisy, I don't know what is. In closing, let me state that I was told all of this directly, by a fellow member of the EDA list and that although not all members present at the aforementioned gathering took part in ridiculing me and degrading my character, not one single person(aside from the female friend with whom I have a very healthy relationship) defended me, my character, or my right to state my own opinion and stand by it instead of catering to the whims of this clique-ish group of veteran EDAs. I feel it is my duty to expose this type of behavior to the list as the petty, jealous, hate-filled actions that they are. These people should be ashamed of themselves.
