Hi there... I've been on the EDA list for quite some time now, but maybe I'm just spacing out and don't remember, but I'm curious about her stance on recording shows.. Does she mind it? Do the sound people allow people to patch in? I seem to remember hearing she's pro-tape/anti-cd cause of bootleggers. Has anyone had any problems recording a show of hers.. hassels by security, etc Also a few general recording questions. 1> What's the best way to conceal a device (MD Player) and mics? 2> What's the best way to get a recording device in? Here's what I read at this site: http://www.resourcesfortraders.com/resources/tapeband.html Jewel Although it was reported in a past update of this list that she now allows audience taping, this has in fact turned out to be misinformation. She still does NOT allow taping. It is true, though, that open tape trading does occur on the mailing list. This occurs because it is among list members only. Check out "http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup/" for more info. The site gives the expired link to Mike's site... oh well... :-) Anyway.. I am just wondering because I'm going to the Puyallup Fair show and would like to take away something special... :-) Thanks! - -Morgan ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 14:52:05 EDT From: JewelRocks4real@aol.com Subject: * Jewel at Street Scene Hey I see Jewels website has awesome photos from San Diego Street Scene now! I think that is just a bonus for all the fans. When he starts the concerts means he is going to give the audience the good mood, and that is just great!! i can speak out of my own experiences when i saw Jewel & Steve singing together in Europe in may 1999 And now i am going to see Jewel & Steve singing live again in Calfornia later this month, which is just a great bonus for me Are there still maybe some fans who are going to attend the concerts ? Michiel a dutch Jewelfan going to Saratoga & Visalia. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 20:48:36 -0400 From: MrBB Subject: * Re: Jewel at Street Scene In a message dated 9/12/2000 4:41:23 PM, JewelRocks4real@aol.com writes: >Hey I see Jewels website has awesome photos from San Diego Street >Scene now! >Who is that electric guitar player that is not Steve Poltz? This week, all the new photos at jeweljk.com were shot at Jewel's "homecoming" gig at Street Scene in San Diego last Friday night. The lead guitar player with Jewel's band that night was Andy Georges who was filling in for Doug Pettibone, who is presently unavailable. Andy was great that night and gave several of the more rockin' tunes a different edge by adding some screamin' slide guitar. This worked especially well on "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone" and "Everybody Needs Someone". For you Dee, and anyone else interested, the setlist follows. MrBB Street Scene Festival, San Diego, CA Sept. 8, 2000 Deep Water What's Simple Is True Hands You Were Meant For Me Race Car Driver Life Uncommon Foolish Games Down So Long Everybody Needs Someone Down Love Me Just Leave Me Alone Who Will Save Your Soul encore: Chime Bells (by the way, this had a new jazzy accapella beginning and new arrangement that I thought was better than any previous arrangement. The "speed yodeling" part had a more traditional Swiss-style yodeling, than her usual arrangement. Not a tune most hardcore fans get excited about anymore, but this version added style to the singing, making it stand out, in my opinion.) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #289 ***************************
