I just started to work on a paper for my English class and realized that I didn't know how to start so I chose one Jewel song to play to kind of get my creative blood flowing through me. I picked "Have a Little Faith in Me." I totally didn't expect this to make me write a letter to you guys, but once again Jewel inspired something inside of me. I have a picture of her right above my desk and as I was listening to this song in the background and reading my notes to get my paper started I, for some reason, just stopped and looked up at her picture. Then all I heard was, "have a little faith in me." Even though she didn't write this song (right?) it still meant so much to me. I know Jewel's been distant lately, but it just seemed so wrong to doubt that she isn't still absolutely amazing. Just because she is living a less hectic life and possibly finding herself again after all of the fast paced media stuff doesn't mean that she's gone. If anything, she may have discovered something more to life in the past year that she might even share with us through her work. I think she's still here with all of us, and if she emerges into the media again she will be here to move us all even more than before. That may have sounded a little weird, but it's just something I felt in the past 10 minutes. Listen to that song if you have it. Maybe you'll feel the same thing. I also want to add that there were some more spiritual/religious things that got to me as far as using the word "faith" and everything.
