Deep Water Life Uncommon (says that she has become a chronic liar, jokingly of course)Hands-said she just flew in from Montana and glad to be in Orange County YWMFM-with a little bit of the Drug Bust story Foolish Games Stephenville-first time listening to it and it sounds quite autobiographical Can't Mend a Broken Heart(???) Down So Long Down Your In Cleveland Today-I know its an oldie but it was the first time I heard it and it sounds a bit like a Dylan song Everybody Needs Someone Love Me Just Leave Me Alone Who Will Save Your Soul Encore--> Don't -forgot the lyrics and so borrowed a POY booklet from a guy up front Chime Bells -(slow to start, fast finish and acapella) Jewel talks about how when she was 6 years old, she would sing songs with her dad while in lieterhosan and one of the songs had a line about kissing and she'd feel embarassed to say the words and shy away from the mic. Then she said "Hello Cleveland" whacked herself on the head with her hand and said to herself "no, no, no" and starts the song I saw and EDA in the crowd that was recording the show on tape(Larry?) and maybe whoever it was could tree the show since even though its got that "spirit tour" vibe (Poltz, Pettibone, Steve George, Brady, and Tony, band for the tour) they had some fun with the same old songs and everybody loved the show. And with Jewel shows being somewhat of a rarity this year, it'll be fun to at least share the music. See some of ya at Street Scene or at Poltzies show Aug.17th Guitar playin Angel Alex ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Aug 2000 11:20:52 +0200 From: "michiel - the dutch Jewelfan - van gorkum" Subject: * Jewel's live recordings? Hello Jewelfans, A while ago i read in the Jewelink that Jewel and her manager Nedra are considering releasing a record with live recordings, what shall it contain for songs to be honest ?? From her early carreer from 1995 till now???? Or should it only feature some highlights of her carreer ?? Would this list appreciate to listen to rare songs not released songs of special versions of some more famous songs?? I like the new songs and i think it's good that Jewel is touring solo accoustically again. Her strength is to sing songs with her guitar only, of course her band is great and very musical but i happen to like Jewel sing on her own a little bit more. Stephenville , Break me , Violet Eyes are just amazing songs that Jewel wrote lately, i hope that a new record will be released one day. I hope that the book Chasing by the dawn will be readied for releases very very soon...... (overseas EDAs) I forgot to mention that if you live in another country you can still email me. I have branches all over the world, and they are not as busy as the US branches. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Aug 2000 15:42:23 -0400 (EDT) From: Jodi Lynn Damon Subject: * Rare Jewels Tape Tree Hello fellow EDAs, I just wanted to let everyone know that the tape tree is doing well. As you can imagine, I am being flooded with emails. All my branches are busy right now, but I am in the process of setting up more. So please wait about 2 weeks before emailing me with a request for the tape. I'm sorry for the delay, but I'm sure you will agree that it is well worth it. Also, I think I have all the branches I need, so don't bother offering. I do want to thank everyone who has aggreed to be a branch, and to everyone who has said such kind words to me. I really appreciate the support. Well, that's all for now. To those of you who did get set up with a branch, I'd love to hear what you think of the tape. Thanks again for your support and patience, Jodi The Rare Jewel Mining Angel ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 05 Aug 2000 09:20:10 -0700 From: "Larry G." Another goodie. >Everybody Needs Someone [Sometime]< This chestnut got roasted and rocked. It is simply unrecognizable from its earlier incarnation, and believe me the new version is killuh! What a great rock song. If released, this one could put Jewel back at the top of the charts. >I saw and EDA in the crowd that was recording the show on tape(Larry?) and >maybe whoever it was could tree the show since even though its got that >"spirit tour" vibe (Poltz, Pettibone, Steve George, Brady, and Tony, band for >the tour) they had some fun with the same old songs and everybody loved the >show. One person evidently felt that the show was taking place on TV in her living room, as the loud talking never stopped. Ever. Let me just say that I doubt if anybody who taped the show in my vicinity got anything listenable. I combined a trip down from Portland to Disneyland with my grandson and the Jewel concert. We got there early and watched some of the riding competition and then they let us run on the grass for the start of the concert. We got to within a few feet of the front of the stage. Juice Newton opened and she was great. When Jewel came out she was talking to Tye on her cell phone. She held up the phone and asked the crowed to say "Hi Ty". She then stuck the phone in her dress (not hanging it up) and sang [Don't]. After she finished she said into the phone " Are you still there?" then turned and said a few more things and hung up to continue the rest of the concert. One question for anyone that was there, My grandson got a little antsy so we went to the back of the crowd for him to run around just when Jewel sang a brand new song. I didn't recognize it, what was it?? It was great to hear her again live, even though we left a little early (we had to catch "Fantasmic" back at Disneyland). Looking forward to the Puyallup concert!
