I have a late full moon night question or two in mind ~ and it's likely this is answered in an FAQ or something somewhere, but, I can't remember what I read not too long ago on the auction site, so, I'm wonderin' ~ how many songs were on the Shiva Diva Doo Wop cassette, which ones, and does anyone know for how long Jewel sold these tapes (months or?), and how much she asked for the tape? and help is mucho appreciated cheers, Adrian ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Jul 2000 09:01:12 -0400 From: Katherine_Stojonic@michcon.com Subject: * Konnichiwa! Konnichiwa, EDAs! How're doing? Enjoying some good Jewel music, I hope. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to dub me a copy of the Pine Knob and Meadowbrook concerts (the two MI concerts). I had made a deal with a member on this list before but unfortunately it fell through. I was also searching for, I believe it was, the last concert of the Spirit Tour in Florida somewhere. Y'know... the concert where she changed the lyrics to "Hands." Not to be greedy, but Woodstock '99 was also on my list. If you could do this for me, I would so greatly appreciate it and would forever be indebted to you. Plus, I have some angelfood of my own to compensate your generousity. So, let's recap: Meadowbrook '97, Spirit Tour Detroit '99, Spirit Tour FL '99, Woodstock '99 in exchange for tapes from my own tape collection, which includes Jewel (JewelStock, Rare and Radio Angels, Tinker Street Cafe, Innerchange Cafe plus more), SeraMyu Soundtracks, Sailormoon Soundtracks, J-Pop (Zard, Puffy, one Hikaru Utada song, Every Little Thing), etc. I look forward to a reply. - -Luv & Smiles- Me! Just my own (very) humble opinion about Jewel. No disrespect to anyone else's thoughts. I've seen from the recent posts that people are getting fairly worked up about things lately. For all those who have a regular job, you'll know how welcome it is to have a couple of days off - even if you've just been on a vacation for a week or so. You ever heard of the saying that you need a holiday to recover from a holiday? Remember, just a couple of years ago, Jewel was doing an average of more than one show per day? She's written LOADS of songs, LOADS of poetry (which had been published, don't you know), done LOADS of gigs worldwide and has just finished a book about her life experiences - soon to be published? Don't you think she deserves a little downtime? Just to chill out, think about where she wants to go next, what direction her music should take, what she wants to write about next?? To spend times with her family and other loved ones? I personally think she's given more than enough of herself to the world in the short time she's been on the scene. Please put yourself in her position - wouldn't YOU like a break every now & then?? I'm obviously a fan of hers, I wouldn't be subscribed to the list if that were not the case. And I know we're ALL very respectful of what she does in all her involvements. I've only seen her perform live once. Personally, I can't wait until she comes back to the U.K. so I can hear this Angel's songs once again. I do appreciate that she may have (lots of) other commitments until then. Even if she doesn't, I definitely won't think the less of her for it. Again, this is my own personal, honest opinion. I hope you all agree. This is what they said about it: RIDE WITH THE DEVIL- Tobey Maguire, Skeet Ulrich(1999, Universal, 139 mins, R, also on DVD) In this TV-level tale, rendered with theatrical sensibilities like poetic dialogue and wide-screen vistas, Director Ang Lee boldly illustrates the brutality of the Civil War and it's effects on a band of pro-South bushwhackers. neither the meandering script nor the central characters- an immigrant's son(Maguire), a freed slave(Jeffrey Wright), a frisky widow(Jewel), and a man of privilege(Ulrich, looking more Louis XIV France than Lincoln America)- seem to know where they're headed C+ Well, I have my DVD copy pre ordered. If you're looking for a good price, go to www.buy.com where it is $14.99- $10 off the regular price. Hey everyone, I am sooooooo looking forward to meeting all the angels at Bearsville this weekend!
