Whether they be straight or winding, flat or mountainous, each day brings new challenges. When it seems you have reached an empass, remember that, just up ahead, someone is in the same place. When we find each other, we gain the strength to move forward. The beauty is in the intersection." That's just a quote I thought up once. But I really do believe in it. I have found that, reflecting on the rougher times in my life, I have done better when I've tried not to handle everything on my own. It is human instinct to keep on, keep up, and keep everything inside all the while. There times, however, when that gets too hard. It is then that, if you make yourself receptive to those around you, the power of prayer can make miracles. It's simple really. We are all comprised of body, mind, and spirit. The door to these is called Heart. When we open the door, and use our body, minds and spirits for their intended purpose, the force of the strength we generate can literally move mountains. Whether we are religous or non-religous, or maybe just not sure, we can all be sure of one thing. We're in this together. I love of all of you EDA's, though I may not know you personally. I will pray for the person facing this challenge, and if there is anything I can do, I would love to help. Truly this is the spirit of Life Uncommon.(It has been medically documented, whether through removed divine sourcing, or the more likely practical application of metaphysical interaction, that prayer does indeed aid healing.) Whether you believe in divinity or no, It must be accepted that the motivation of thought moves matter, and thus the benevolent inspiration does indeed give associable affectation. In laymans, what you believe comes to be, if you have faith in you own healing ability, prayer would aid the troubled. The first time I saw Jewel was at Walnut Creek, I think in 1996. She opened for Neil Young. This was also the first time I saw Ben Folds Five. To this day I am still an avid BFF fan (I went all the way to DC from NC to see em.) It was truly a great show to saw the least, for all three performers. BTW, Ben Folds Five is playing at the Cat's Cradle on July 24th. I am so excited because my sister has a friend at Radio Shack and he got his hands on the tape for us! My only question is.. why is Violet Eyes not on there?.. It's the only one I saw when I watched it in the store, yet not on the tape. And I really wanted to hear that song again. Anyone else not have Violet Eyes on their tape? thanks! katie *the theater angel* ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Jul 2000 14:47:23 EDT From: Ppmentpati@aol.com Subject: * Jewel quote question EDA's- I have the poster of Jewel leaning against the wall with the quote on the bottom that reads "We are loved beyond our ability to comprehend." Well, I've thought of numerous meanings behind it, but what does it mean? Comprehend what? I'm sure someone knows what she's trying to say, but I have no idea. I guess I will get many different responses, but I'll read anything. Please respond, anyone! I have a poster that I'm confused about! Should I know what it means? And I think it shows how wonderful our list and members are when we can love each other so much, even through we do not know each other personally to wish to heal each other. That is one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced through prayer.I am not religious at all but I do believe that prayer is a healing power. And I am praying with the rest of you for our fellow EDA.Thanks once again! I think what she was refering to was love. We are loved beyond our ability to comprehend how much we are loved. There is a person or people who love us more than we'd ever be able to understand. In my own interpretation I took it to mean that, although we are aware that many people love us, we will never be able to understand just how much others love us and how much of an important part of other people's lives we are. We never realize in day to day life just how important we are to others, or that other people are to us. Every small act of kindness is meaningful, and effects someone's life in some way. We'll never know just how much our kindness and love has effected someone else's life. We are aware of love, but unable to understand how much, or the way, that someone else loves us for each and every part of our beings. Although we love on our own, with all our hearts, we can't comprehend how someone else could care about us as deeply as we care about others. We're kind of programmed to be more critical of ourselves, therefore we don't feel like we deserve a lot of love. When someone else loves us, it's beyond our primal instinct to understand how someone could love us unconditionally, good with the bad. ~<3~ Sandy Angeloflove@innocent.com ~ Angelicpoet@home.com Lost in Heaven ~ http://fly.to/~heaven Chasing a Rainbow...A Jewel Website ~ http://www.geocities.com/angelofluv.geo/index2.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 01 Jul 2000 21:38:11 EDT From: "Devin Starr" Subject: * Re: Spirit Question hello angels... i have been posting so much lately that i should probably be called the outspoken angel.. opinions on everything... no wonder i liked philosophy so much.. well now i am off topic. so my topic... Fragile Flame. Used quite a few times in spirity and i noticed it in a few of her NWOA book. I think that it is an aqurate metaphor for the human condition. We are all so delicate, so pure, that we emit a small light from inside us, its seen in everything we do, everything we touch, and so easily it can be extinguished. A harsh word, touch, or look, and we lose that little bit of light that was once bright. A single flame is small, yet brightens the darkest room, think how together, all of our flames.. the hundreds of us all burning together. We can do anything. We just have to show our flame. I believe in angels, more than ever since i joined this list i believe in angels. and as angels we have a mission to burn brightly and help others to burn bright. to prove this we are all including a certain angel in our thoughts.. to help this angel.. help her burn as bright as she once did, and as she will again... you know who i am talking about. the conversation has turned to her many times in the past few days... and all i have to say is that she is definitly in my meditations and mantras (im not one for talking to a specific god... polytheism is my path) and i am sure she is in yours as well... but to get back to my point, we are all fragile flames... be careful with me cause i'd like to stay that way Jess angel with broken wings with a broken wing, she carries her dreams man you oughta see her fly ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Jul 2000 23:32:25 EDT From: ZinzyGurl@aol.com Subject: * Re: Australia RWTD Lucky Australians, in Ohio it didn't show at all, except I think for one night in Yellow Springs. I think she means that throughout your life, you will be loved greatly, but it is not until you lose the people you love, whether through death or distance, that you realise how much you were loved by them. I take it that way due to personal experience, adn when I am far from those I love and who love me, that quote often pops into my mind. In any case, the flame refers to to old axiom maintained, old flame, the spirit of passion in a beloved spirit.Fragile flame is the wavering will to live.
