Maybe > jewel is checking out her own spiritual path and its entering her writing. Jewel has always been very spiritual... if y'all can find a copy, check out a book called _Mindfire:_dialogues_in_the_other_future_ by Alexander Blair-Ewart, ISBN 1-895897-43-2 (1995). It might be out of print now, I found my copy in a clearance book store. You might want to try a used bookstore or one of those on-line places... It has the most thorough documentary analysis of actual Jewel's 'beliefs'. It's in an interview format... ...she borrows much from First Nations belief systems, and much of her core philosophies seem compatible with both Wicca and forms of Christianity. B*B, James. List Moderator Note: While it's not totally clear above, this book does contains an actual interview with Jewel, not just stuff about her beliefs. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2000 02:19:56 EDT From: ZinzyGurl@aol.com Subject: * Re: Steve v Jewel Yup yup, she is right there. It is the masculine version, and sometimes he doesn't say "goddamned" fork, he says "manly" fork. And they both say that Jewel stalked Steve for the better part of a year I believe before he listened to her finally. I was sure it was Jewel, so I watched to the very end of the credits after the movie, and sure enough, it was Jewel. I'm going to go and buy the sound track this week, just to have a copy of this version of the song....so worth it. Other artists on this soundtrack include, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Diana Ross, Peter Gabriel and more. Many of you might already know this, but incase you didn't, check it out! So don 't anybody > hold your breath hoping for a copy of the RS concert...however maybe if we > beg a lot an official DVD of it might get released (we can dream can't we).... This isn't the case. You *can* copy a DVD with a DVD Rom drive and a CD burner. Just use DeCss (which *isn't* illegal in itself) and then you can split it into chunks and write it out as a few VCDs, playable on DVD players. Might not be the easiest thing to do (and it's time consuming) but it's certainly possible. Plus, you can always transfer DVD to VHS. www.dvdutils.com is a good place to start. Just wanted to let everyone know that the local TV listings here in Chicago are showing ACL on Saturday night(actually Sunday morning) at Midnight thru 1:00am. That is on WTTW channel 11 in Chicago. I have two VCRs and will tape on them both. If you can't get a copy yourself I would be happy to trade something for the extra copy I will have. I wanted to go to one of my fave juel sites (Mike Carmona's Big Bad Juel Site) and I just couldn't remember the web addy so I went to Gerrit's page (another of my faves!) 'cause he has like, ALL the freaking Juel links in the net or something and I'm like, "You can't go wrong trusting Gerrit." I see Mike's site and I see the web addy's the same as i remember, but when I clicked it, IT WASN'T THERE!! I wouldn't mind except on the site I didn't get an altenative web addy or anything. So I was wondering what happened; like, where's it now? ===== ~*Liz*~ the Misplaced Angel HARMLESS & SHAMELESS PLUGS (if you can, check 'em out!)
