I love "Sometimes It Be That Way", and "Quiet Warrior" is a fantastic song all except the part about being quiet warrior. That's one of the most beautiful images I've heard in almost any song-- the guy asking the girl how come the wind blows, how come the sun rises . . . she tells him the sky sings, and he wishes to see the sun, and she asks him why. He says the earth breathes, and the sun has wings. Jewel is such an angel. Hi ho! WHILE I THINK THIS BOOK IS A GREAT IDEA I THINK IT IS BEING MISS-TREATED AND OVERATED. ALTHOUGH I DONT KNOW JEWEL PERSONALLY I DONT THINK SHE WOULD LIKE TO SPEND HOURS READING REPETITIVE MESSAGES ON HOW U HAVE HELPED SOMEONE ELSE. I KNOW I WOULD GET SICK OF IT, I THINK U'S SHOULD WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING ATLEAST INVOLVING HER!(HER MUSIC+POETRY) ALTHOUGH SHE WOULD PROBABLY LIKE TO KNOW HOW SHE HAS INSPIRED YOU, YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER THE SAYING: "TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING!!!!" Actually, Jewel WOULD like to read such things. Just a few days after Angie joined here, I sent the following post on to the list. It expresses Jewel's very thoughts on the subject. (although I am also certain she doesn't mind reading something involving her music and poetry :-) Mike - EDA/Jewel list manager :-) Date: Tue, 09 May 2000 04:31:38 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: * Re: c'mon people (About Jewel's birthday & presents to her) Amy Emerman wrote: >Someone wrote: >>Hi.. BINGO! ....and guess what?....Jewel DOES feel the same way. :-) Back in July 1996 when we were organizing JewelStock, and MrBB was just a regular ol' list member like the rest of us, the lists' main contact with Jewel's management was a gal that worked for Lenedra and often posted news about Jewel here under the name of Hiranya. MANY EDAs were writing in to me asking if they could give a gift to Jewel at JewelStock. I posed that question to Hiranya, and this was her exact response, word-for-word: >Gifts: Lenedra doesnt remember the conversation about gift >limiting but here are Jewel's current thoughts on it. Since this list is >WAY ahead on this count it wont be hard for us! --- Hiranya I think that sums it up rather well, and I am 100% certain it's still a good rule-of-thumb to follow :-) Mike :-) * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand, * or have a burning question about Jewel and/or the list, * The Jewel/EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.quackquack.net/jewel * Many basic/common Jewel and list questions can be answered there :-) * * Need some Angelfood? I just heard that Bjork did win an award for her first movie part and the director Van Trier wasn't even delighted about her acting abilities?? So i was wondering how come that every press in the world has totally underrated Jewel's colloboration with Ang Lee and Skeet Ulrich??? I never read very very positive reviews . So i was really dissapointed to hear that singer Bjork did win an award at the Cannes Movie festival and Jewel didn't win an award for her Sue Lee character in the movie Ride with the devil. Just my dissapointed 2 cents about this , hopefully in the end will only kindness matters!
