Okay, I have heard "Jupiter" b/c "it didn't get the play" and "Down So Long" but that one had no reason why. So I still am sticking firm to "WWSYS" b/c it was the beginning of her music video career and her birthday was the beginning of her so they kinda go hand in hand. Gina EastAngel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 00:50:54 EDT From: ACIM47@aol.com Subject: * Angelfood Hi angels, I have an idea. This is crazy, but here goes. All the time I'm hearing about angelfood.Either someone has it or someone wants it.This song that song, this concert that concert. What are we really trying to do here?Whats our mission?Whats our goal?I guess we're hoping that someday we'll eventually have ALL her songs. So what are we waiting for!Enough of this 1 tape here, 1 concert there stuff....lets make an ANGELFOOD BOXEDSET!!Including every song she has ever performed in alphabetical order from A to Z (even though I don't think there is a Z) I'm not counting stuff from POY,Spirit,Joy, or the Wizard of Oz, just the rarer songs.I already have a pretty good start.I have great quality copys of more than half the songs, but I know I'm going to need a lot of help here.I've made a list of all the songs I could find, but I'm not going to post it to the list because its huge. (157 songs so far!) Now anyone who wants to help please e-mail me,and if you just want my list to see if I've missed some I'll send it to you. (by the time I finished making it I was seeing triples so I probably missed a bunch or got some wrong) I'm going to go through my collection tonight to see what I'm missing and try to figure out a way to get these songs. (hopefully some nice angels will want to contribute to this project :-) ) When I'm finished making this (in the year 2010 lol) I'll send copies of it to whoever wants it, providing they send tapes and postage.Or we can figure out a way to tree it.I hope everyone likes this idea.Let me know what you think. Take care angels, Shawn ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 May 2000 01:40:45 -0400 From: JH Subject: * TRL ok guys don't want to be a bummer here but can we please not start the TRL birthday thing. It wont work, I'm tons of lists, a few of them are bigger and way more organized than this list and it never works. The only time I've seen it work was for a HOLE video and that video was getting air play at the time and was almost on the countdown on it's own. I firmly believe that MTV will never play a video on TRL that is not on some hidden play list somewhere. TRL is part of a huge and I consider evil marketing machine right now. Well established bands get ignored but some teen pop star that no one has heard of will pop up over night. If you want to try to get her played try VH1 they have a new live talk show called the daily !, and I would not be surprised to see them make a mention of it if they got enough e-mail about it. I'm not trying to be a bad guy here, just the TRL birthday thing is getting really old. I hate to rain on your parade, but it just won't work. There isn't near enough dedicated people to do it. Think about it. You have your people who hate TRL (such as John and I), the people who deleat all the messages from this list because they don't want to or can't figure out how to unsubscibe and keep getting e-mail, the ones who are just here cause they were surfing the web and came across it, etc. I could go on and list a dozen more senorios, but in the end it's the same. There will only be a small ammount of people participating. Why doesn't someone just send a hallmark card that says "Happy Birthday" and sign it from the EDA's? It's not like it has to be involved as everyone makes it to be. She wouldn't be dissipointed in a hallmark. That way only one person is dealing with it. It will get done quickly that way. July 14-16!!! Hi all - it's that time of year again, time to start thinking about summer and making plans! And that means we have to start thinking Bearsville!! For those of you wondering what the he*% I'm talking about, there is a brief explanation at the end of the e-mail. The dates for the annual camping gathering are July 14-16. So, let me know at this address if you think you might want to attend or have questions after reading this e-mail. (Please see the web site first - http://www.quackquack.net/bv/bv99.htm -- this years site will be up soon!) For those of you fairly new to the list (like the last 9 months), the Bearsville camping trip has become an annual event commemorating JewelStock! For the first time since that awe inspiring event, the trip does not fall on the specific date of July 18, so I chose to use the weekend before as it is closer. We all trek ourselves up (down or over) to the Woodstock/Bearsville, NY area to Steve's Campsites and 'rough it' and stuff. It's a lot of fun and we always manage to come up with activities to keep people busy. To get more details see last year's page at http://www.quackquack.net/bv/bv99.htm Tammy :-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 18:12:54 EDT From: JeWeLzKeWL@aol.com Subject: * Jewel's birthday Hi.. I feel so bad that the list was down & there wasn't time to plan something for Jewel's birthday..it's too bad so many people have so little hope..isn't there anything nice we could do in this little time? I mean sometimes I think when Jewel gets loads of presents it kinda gets to her head & she doesn't appreciate it as much anymore but its kinda sad that she won't get anything from us this year..maybe it'll give her time to think & appreciate us more...even though it might work out for the better in that case, ill still feel a lil guilty..im not really sure what to think.. - -Jade *Tiny Angel* ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 May 2000 17:36:30 CDT From: "yankee doodle" Subject: * how many Jewel Songs Hi, This is of little consequence really, I just wondered if anyone knows around how many Jewel songs have been recorded by people altogether, I have around 150 in my collection but I know there are so many more. I would be greateful if anyone could take the time to e-mail me back. As of about 18 months ago, I was told there were over 750 songs in the Jewel archive, and about 500 had been performed in public.
