Well, no it didn't sound = weird, in fact it was kinda groovy :) But i've never heard it before! It had an electric guitar accompaniment, instead of the usual acoustic = one, and the chorus was different. The "Dreams last, for so long, even = after your gone.." bit was missing so the chorus STARTED with "I know, = you love me..." Does anyone know what this is, and where it's from?? (btw, Kim and = Nick, if you were listening.. i highly doubt it, but... it was on about = 12.30pm) I would've rang the radio station and asked what is was... but = wouldn't ya know it, i had to catch a bus! So if anyone knows, please help! I'm really curious about this now... = :) Stace -Silver Moon Angel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Apr 2000 09:59:57 -0400 (EDT) From: zanita@webtv.net (Susana Figueiredo) Subject: * INDEPENDENT BEST SELLERS Hi Angels, Have some good news to pass on in regard to Jewl's book "Night Withour Armor"....what do critics know anyway? ;) INDEPENDENT BEST SELLERS Date: 04/02/00 00:01 These are the top poetry titles sold at independent bookstores for the year to date, according to the "Independent Booksellers for Independent Minds" list, based on sales at 275 independent booksellers across America. 1. Hi folks :-) Mike the ol' list manager here again. Many of you will get two copies of this message due to the method I am sending it. I apologize for any inconvenience. Due to circumstances beyond my control, beginning at 6:00pm ET tonight, I am going to TEMPORARILY close down the Jewel@smoe.org, jewel-digest and jewel-news lists until NEXT Monday evening. (i.e. We are closing shop for ONE week and one week only). It's nothing serious, just dealing with two VERY time consuming situations, and I won't have the time to deal with the Jewel lists and the 2 to 3 hours a day it takes to run it "properly". (some of you may think I don't run it properly as it is, but that's another issue :-) ;-) So, effective 6:00pm ET tonight, the Jewel lists hosted by smoe.org will be off-line for ONE week. They will start up again next Monday April 10th at 6:00pm ET. Please note, there MIGHT be one or two newsy posts about Jewel by MrBB if something comes up that warrants a post. Other than that, I am requesting that no one send a post to the list until sometime Monday April 10th. (late straggler posts that come in between now and 6pm tonight will go through) I will post a reminder about this temporary shutdown again at 6:00pm ET tonight Mike - list manager/owner * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand, * or have a burning question about Jewel and/or the list, * The Jewel/EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.quackquack.net/jewel * Many basic/common Jewel and list questions can be answered there :-) * * If you can't find the answer on the page have any list related * questions, please feel free to email me at ducksoup@quackquack.net * or you can IM me on either of the AOL names below: * DuckOfPrey or WhyADuck55 and/on AOL or AOL Instant Messenger ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Apr 2000 14:49:30 GMT From: "Ashley Wade" Subject: * Picture of Jewel May's Twist Magazine Are there any EDA's out there that read Twist magazine? I do not have too much new information. I mainly want to urge anyone who said they will send me a song(s) to do so as soon as they can. I'd really like to start compiling this soon. Also please contact Mike (the list manager) if you have a video of exhale. He is going to make an audio version of Break Me for the compilation. Other than that, I have no new news. I will most likely have everyone vote on the title next week so if you have a suggestion and you haven't emailed it to me, do so soon. I guess that is all. Thanks again for everyone who has helped me so far! I will see you in a week. I'll miss you guys! Hi all, Since your list manager needs to shut down the Jewel lists for a week, here's a quick announcement before that happens: Congratulations to our newest jeweljk.com contest winner Angela Nadeau from New Hampshire! Angela won the autographed Time Magazine (with Jewel on the cover). For our next contest, we'll have three grand prizes. Three lucky winners, chosen at random from all entries received, will each win a copy of the rare & out of print CD "Bits & Baubles". This CD was a limited edition that was only available last year at Target Stores & features exclusive live tracks & excerpts of Jewel reading poems from her first book "A Night Without Armor". Each of the three CDs that we'll be awarding, will also be autographed by Jewel. To win one of the three autographed "Bits & Baubles" CDs, simply visit Jewel's website, navigate to "contest" & enter to win. There's no purchase necessary. This new contest isn't up yet, but it will be soon. I wanted to get the info to you before the lists go on vacation, so I'm telling you a bit ahead of time. Check the contest page in the next few days & the new contest will be there. Good luck to all who enter! Since these are all WB and UPN shows how come no one mentioned Jewel's song Absence of Fear(?) on the show Roswell? Very much in the "Jewel" demographic! AND at the end of the show they showed her CD Spirit! It was so perfect as the stars of the show were sharing a special moment and Jewel's song came on. My life should be so good. By the way if any of you are a Nielson family PLEASE tune in to Roswell! I'd hate for it to go off the air! Young people, aliens and love. What more could you ask for? ;-) If they're dissing Jewel in one of the TV shows maybe it's just a plot device for Jewel to make a guest apperance! That would be SO excellent! Think good thoughts! Who knows?! On another subject I was wondering if this list discourages posting activities by EDA groups? I know one EDA website organizes activities with other charities and original events. But I don't see anything ever posted to this list. Just wondering. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Apr 2000 18:00:00 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: * Reminder - EDA/Jewel lists closed for ONE week only Hi folks :-) Just a reminder (like you need one ;-) that as I announced this morning, the Jewel/EDA lists will be primarily closed for ONE week only, starting right now.
