Jewel entertains a lot of fans by her voice, great stories and charming personality on the stage. Of course i do respect whatever Jewel wants to do. You have to give her credits for the huge succeses she had so far in her career. But sometimes a person wants to discover other things so that she only can come back stronger . I think Jewel has to be aware that she doesn't get a burn out. She is still so young woman who can entertain us for many more years. I would nevertheless be more happy when i would see Jewel perform live on stage and listen to her voice and great lyrics. Jewel writes such beautiful songs and poems that people really enjoy the most. No other artist can be and is so openhearted on the stage than Jewel. Jewel is human, so she has achieved so many that she gives a little preferences to her social life. I think Jewel needs some friends around her. 365 days a year on the road is tough, and i can imagine that an artist wants to have a break and i believe and have hope that Jewel will come stronger to the end of this period. Her third record will be a return to the songs of her wonderful first record Pieces of You and the softtone record Spirit. So whatever the beautiful angel from Alaska decides to do deserves our blessing and support. I know that in the end only Jewel's creativity will be justified by this break. Jewel will surprise us tremendously with her new project. I do think it's still very interesting to learn what Jewel's book Chasing by the dawn life stories from her whole life. It should be interesting to read what she has to tell the world read fans. Jewel still knows that songs and music means a lot for her and especially the appreciation of the crowds does do Jewel good. So don't worry you all, Jewel will only be resting a bit , you can't blame her . I honestly say we have to support Jewel that is important. Her song Break me shows that Jewel still writes beautiful stories about love and human people which attract us eda's. bye, Michiel a worried but confident fan that Jewel will come back with a new project that will please us all. For every "misuse" of a word, every controversial t-shirt, every minor hypocrisy Jewel commits, the media kicks the sh** out of her...[admit it, some of her most adoring fans are just the same]. In response to all the pretentious journalism focused on our ASB, Jewel commented, "A lot of them 'read the press on me, they don't listen to the record...You guys are taking copies of copies. You don't have an original thought in your head.'" "I try to be real when I'm in a bad mood. When you start faking it, you just start faking a lot of your life. That's damaging to me, and it's damaging to the fans, because they start thinking that all stars are a super-breed of human. So I hope-just for my own liberation-to stay as real as I can. Which means I lose my temper sometimes. And I feel sh***y for it the next day." - -EW January 15, 1999 In response to the inertia of Jewel's career, a third album is inevitable...Jewel's in the process of mastering electric...a new sound is emerging, and people love it. Skeptics surmised that "Down So Long" was a foreshadowing of a finality, but Jewel has access to an immeasurable amount of creative energy that is "begging to come into view". She deserves some time off and so does this topic. Love her, just leave her alone...for awhile - -YES ~the every other day angel~ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Mar 2000 15:08:25 EST From: ZinzyGurl@aol.com Subject: * Okay...this is funny EDAs Okay, is this for real...I mean, really Jewel singing? Enjoy this lyrics are from Jewel's official website. If all the new songs on Jewel's third record are like this one than we can sit down and be very very happy and grateful to listen to her songs. - ------- break me - new! I will meet you in some place / Where the light lends itself to soft repose / I will let you undress me / But I warn you I have thorns like any rose / And you could hurt me with your bare hands / You could hurt me with with the sharp end of what you say / But I'm lost to you now & theres no amount of reason / That could save me So break me / Take me / Just let me feel your arms again / Break me / I'll let you make me / Just let me feel your love again Feels like being underwater / Now that I've let go & lost control / Water kisses fill my mouth / Water fills my soul So break me / Take me / Just let me feel your arms again / Break me / Make me / Just let me feel your love again Kiss me once or maybe twice / Oh, it never felt so nice / So break me /Take me / Let me feel your arms again / Break me / Make me / Just let me feel your arms again / Just let me feel your love again - ---- A wonderful song by Jewel on Oxygen network, let's hope more will follow with the Austin City limits show. let's hope the show chooses songs that Jewel didn't sing so many times in concerts. I doubt it If anyone thinks Jewel's been "slacking off"--hello--she's writing her second book, doing TV appearances, preparing for a lot more I'm sure, and just released a home video and a number of other things...this past year she did a huge amount of stuff and remember we are talking about a girl who didn't take a vacation for two years straight! Just because she's not on Conan every night or isn't releasing an album every month, relax! She's an incredibly amazingly productive woman. How many 25 year olds have accomplished what Jewel has already? Poetry books, now a fiction book coming out...it's amazing she has time to even write another book with her busy schedule, never mind have a life ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Mar 2000 16:01:17 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: * list/smoe.org down for a period Saturday Hi peeps :-) I just wanted to inform you all that the joint that smoe.org is housed in will be without power for about 10 hours or more starting Saturday morning at about 6:00am eastern USA time. I have a few things to say. Jewel loves what she does, as long as she doesn't lose hope she will continue to make music. We can help maintain that hope *wink* I read in an interview (posted here) that Jewel said she wanted to be singing when she was 60... 60 Did everybody hear that????? There's lots of music left in her. We just have to be patient. If Jewel does leave music for a while. One word gives me hope "comeback". Thanks to EDA Rebecca I have a copy of the show. So I have been working on it since to get it transcribbed for those of you who want to read it. I have about the first quarter or 15 minutes of it done. I hope to have it finished no later than tomorrow if all goes as planned and I will send it along. I am also planning on hooking up a VCR to a reciever/amp to copy it onto cassette. Twice on plan on doing that for those of you who want the interview on tape and/or just the song. This will make it easier for those of you who have PAL vcr's and who want to hear the song. Also this will give us the 1st copies of "Break Me" to play on our radios. So just sit patiently and I will email the transcript (As best to my capabilities to have it done perfectly) and keep updated on my idea to tree this on cassette compilied along with the newer songs from the Spirit tour.
