There is no question that Christina was once a member of this list. i don't know what her e-mail or angelname was. I can say that TMBH did once get to meet the blonde bombshell. The man works in the music industry. When he made her acquaintance, he ID'd himself as TMBH. she didn't believe him! That would have been a match made in heaven. I have gotten about 100 requests for making copies of the tape, there is no way I could make that many copies, so I think I'm going to do some sort of contest type thing, and try to send it to as many people as possible, I don't know how I am going to do this, but I'll try. Also everyone who I told I was going to send a copy for $15.00 I cannot do this any longer, due to conflicts with my parents, and "legal" stuff with the list manager. Please if I told you I would give you a copy, Don't send a check! I won't be able to make the tape, I'll just send your money back. It may be a while until I can make the tapes, because my parents are upset with me over this, but e-mail me (even if I have talked to you before) and maybe we can trade, or work out a different type of deal for a lot less money. I don't know, I'll try to work something out. I am so sorry if this caused you any confusion, or any disapointment, I didn't know this would happen, I didn't realize how many of you would want copies. Just try and bear with me, while I try and work through this mess, hopefully I can get most of you copies, but right now I just don't know ~Samantha~ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2000 20:20:43 EST From: Angeljlr98@aol.com Subject: * Re: "Aura Lee performed by Jewel" Mike asked: > Also, in the closing credits they listed "Aura Lee performed > by Jewel". LOL...Mike, sweetie...Aura Lee was the song that they all sang at the piano...It's a pretty old traditional song. Don't remember who wrote it. =) Love, Jamie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2000 21:50:08 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: * NJC: Confirmed: Christina Aguilera was on this list once Good evening all :-) Just a note for all who were curious or intrigued by this recent "Aguilera an EDA?" thread of sorts. I have confirmed that indeed Christina Aguilera used to be on this list back in 1997 or so, and as a matter of fact she still checks the Jewel-digests online once in a while. (for those that did not know, you can read back copies of all list posts and digests at http://www.smoe.org/lists/jewel/archives ) She even has some angelfood too (the JewelStock tapes for one). So who knows, maybe some of us old-timers here traded tapes with her in the past before she became famous :-) Maybe I can coax a "hi to the EDAs" post out of her....I am going to try. That's about it. He was talking about his pro social activities when he was asked how he could get younger artists involved and he replied by listing several artists with a social conscience and Jewel was one of them. Now, WE already knew that. As a matter of fact She's inspired US to become more socially responsible. It's just good to hear someone who has a little credibility in the music field tell everyone else. By the way, If you missed the Crosb, Stills, Nash & Young concert you missed the best gig of the year (except for Jewel at the Gorge). There's an up-and-coming chick singer that's never been mentioned on here (not that I know of anyway), but I know she has on the Ani Difranco list, and a few others. Her name is Sheila Nicholls, and she's amazing, so I recommend that everyone go to her website (www.sheilanicholls.com), download a few snippets of her songs, and if she's playing near you...go see her. I happen to know that she's playing in New Orleans on March 11th at 9:30...some little bird told me (okay, so I do RUN the coffeeshop she's playing at, but I'm very excited about it). Thanks for your time... Jamie ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #71 **************************
