Australian EDA gathering Hey, Ok, after much frustration on trying to organise dates and the like for a gathering, khoi and my good self has decided that the gathering shall be held on Saturday the 26th of Febuary. We will be meeting at the Town Hall steps at 10 am, and then going to grab something to eat and walk to hyde park. It might be an idea to bring angelfood, for trading, and any books of jewel you have so we can all have a looksie at the pictures, but only if you feel like it! If some of you are coming from far away, say canberra or newcaslte, as i know some of you are.....i can meet you at central, and then catch the train to town hall if you like, but please let me know in adavcend, so we can organise times at central. If you have any question, please email me (jeremy) at scorpius_48@excite.com, khoi (my partner in crime!) at khoi_m@hotmail.com, or to the ozeda list at ozedas@onelist.com......but please not to the EDA list, might confuse some people. PS - Does anyone have any idea where we could get a nice, resonable priced meal in the city? Thats the only bit we havent figured out! PPS - small change of plans, we will be going to hyde park and then going to sit down and eat somewhere...anyone have any ideas on what we can do after? However many are also not so patient, considering the amount of email that has come in to the list asking if she won. The fact is, while it certainly appears by looking at the "Smooch Voting/Results" web site she may have in fact won, no one involved with this list knows the final results as of yet. So please, sit tight and wait until either the American Greetings web site posts the final results, or perhaps MrBB announces anything (assuming he might be the first to find out). PLEASE do not email the list or MrBB asking about the results. When the results are known, they will be passed on to the list soon there after. One problem a lot of theses unreleased songs have been released. Just so you guys know, and sorry I'm 100% sure about all the details on some of these: Sometimes It Be That Way: not 100%sure about this one I think it might be an extra track on a foreign version of POY Race Car Driver - :think this one was a B-side and on one of those rare promos My Own Private God's Gift To Women - This one is on Save The Linoleum 1,000 Miles Away - See above Emily - crossing guard sound track Flower - : B-side I know I left out a lot and might be wrong on a few. Just wanted people to know that there are very good studio versions of this stuff out. Try getting your hands on Rare Angels if you cant afford the originals. I consider most of those songs to be Jewels best and it pains me that they were considered left over tracks to be added to various releases. Also, we'd like to announce the 3 lucky winners of the autographed tourbooks at the jeweljk.com contest which just ended. Congratulations go out to: Alejandro Mena Ramírez de Arellano from Mexico City, Mexico Nicole Greenfield from Syossett, New York Chris Stroud from Phoenix Arizona Thanks to all who entered! Enjoy this weeks photos! Finally, some have been asking about the STAR FM "Jingle Ball 99" charity CD. I haven't heard a release date yet, but I expect it to be any time now. Both Jewel & Steve Poltz will each have a live track on it as well as a live duet of YWMFM, taped at the event in San Diego last December. I added a link to Star FM on the jeweljk.com calendar. Last time I looked, they were accepting pre-order registration, so they can email you when its actually available. It'll only be available through SoCal area CD stores & through the STAR FM website. That's about it today. I'll let you know SmoochMail status as soon as I can. Personally I think this is one of the better ideas that they have come up with. Regarding the poetry thing for Nedra, if you want to write something for anyone in the Jewel crew or for Jewel herself, you might think about getting in on some of these poetry submission requests that fellow EDAs occasionally post. As a writer I can tell you as gospel that getting published is not an easy task and poetry sites may be some of your best opportunities to get your work published, electronically that is. wishing for annonymously sent free angel food to appear jack the bipolar angel :) :( ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #56 **************************
