I am new to this list and I must say I am enjoying it. Reading about Jewel is great and I look forward to seeing her again in concert. I waited about 6 or 7 hours in 100 degree weather to see her in Ft. Worth at the Rockfest show in 1997 and she made it worth the wait! I love her music and can't wait until she comes to Dallas again. Thanks, Jarid. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2000 23:09:04 EST From: Buster2530@aol.com Subject: * Legal Issue question EDA's, I have a question. I was thinking of starting a Jewel website(or a site where part is dedicted to her). And I've been saving pic's onto my computer from the jeweljk.com site. And I was wondering...I'm not going to get into any trouble for taking their pictures without permission, am i? And if I would get into some trouble, how would I go about asking Jeweljk.com if I can use the pictures?(or even possibley Atlantic, etc.). Taylor has such an amazing sound, when I was buying my second guitar I almost got a Taylor, but my budget couldn't go over $500 so I ended up with a nice Yamaha , but my God, the sound of a Taylor is like so clear and different than all the other guitars , even me, a beginner could tell the difference, so if I get as good as I want to get , by next year I'll get one.. let me know. thanks Lucky Angel.. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2000 23:04:12 EST From: Wigglytooth523@aol.com Subject: * I love you guys- please read Hello my winged friends Jewel and the EveryDayAngels, Yes, you-have made a tremendously huge impact on my life. When I was in middle school and early High school I paid absolutely no attention to MTV and VH1, then during the summer after my Freshman year I discovered this amazing beauty named Jewel. Over the summer months that followed I watched TV and listened to the radio constantly hoping to hear her sing one more time. I had her CD but it didn't matter, I couldn't get enough of her voice. It's now almost 4 years later and my radio or CD player is only off when I go to sleep. I LOVE MUSIC! and its all because of her. Also during that wonderful summer I became a member of an Internet fan club known as "the EveryDay Angels" I owe them so much. When "Spirit" came out I began passing on information to a local DJ here in Orlando her named Nikki Knight. She and I have become good friends. She recently gave me the radio stations copy of "What Simple is True." Also I am trying to get a job at the local Sam Goody music store (I'm hoping this works out.) I have become friends with all the employees and am constantly in there sharing new info. I even got into a conversation about Jewel with a customer one day and we talked for like 10 minutes. Most importantly I have become friends with a few EveryDayAngels. Katharine deserves a mention here, without her my Jewel collection would fail to exist. Thanks so much! Then there is Sarah, a true EveryDay Angel in every sense of the word. She is incredible, I hope someday we can get the chance to meet. We have been talking a little over 4 months and even though she lives 2200 miles away she has become my closest friend, I don't know what I'd do without her. Without the EveryDay Angels none of this would have ever been possible. Thank you all sooooo much. This is what MrBB himself posted when he announced the new "weekly pictures" a few weeks ago: > I forgot to mention that from now on, Tuesday is >"NEW PHOTOS DAY" at jeweljk.com. Every Tuesday you'll >discover NEW, never before seen, professional photographs >of Jewel from our vast archive. > And yes, they were updated this past Tuesday with >many more of our favorite shots from the 1999 World Tour. > Download these while you can as they will be replaced >with new ones next Tuesday. That's not totally clear though. It says we can download them, but it does not mention anything about using them on web pages. Yo Alan! Can you shed some light on this? From what I have gathered, a signature guitar is made to the artist's specifications. Jewel plays some pretty spiffy Taylors, so these cannot possibly be *as* nice as hers since they are running for cheaper than my current Taylor cost me...which isn't close to as "decorated" as Jewel's. If there are any beginning guitarists out there who might consider buying Jewel's sig model...make sure you really like playing the guitar before buying an expensive one such as a Taylor. I bought a Taylor after one year of playing a Takamine Jasmine, so I knew that I was ready for something bigger and better:) One more thing...I'm running a contest on my website and it ends tomorrow night. A great prize is up for grabs and only TWO people have entered, so right now those two people each have a 50/50 shot at winning the CD. When i read about the great Austin City Limits show with the new songs sung by Jewel than i starting to realize that i hope that Jewel will come back to Europe again to do some concerts. It so a pity that such a shows Jewel can only perform for an american tv producer that's why i guess Austin city limits never get a broadcast for 100% in Europe. I also regret that the TV companies cut down the amount of broadcast time from the original 2 hours set to only max 1 hour set. Why isn't it possible to release the video or dvd just like the LIFE UNCOMMON video of this great recent performance Jewel give to her fans? I think this one of ways how more fans can enjoy Jewel's new lyrics and great songs. To make the songs global there need to be done some amount of work and policy for it and than we can make Jewel more known in the rest of the world. Of course a lot of europeans know Jewel for her songs Foolish Games and Hands and her european eda's are totally fan for sure. So i really hope that Jewel will decide to come to Europe this summer and give some nice concerts with her band or accoustic. I would like if any european tv broadcaster buy the AUSTIN City Limit show with Jewel and let it broadcast in Europe. Why isn't it possible to contact by the J-team any european tv giant and offer them this great show. Or offer a giant tv producer in europe the opportunity to record for an european eda audience a show with Jewel. I think a lot of european eda's would really thrive on this idea for sure. I only can pray that one day Jewel will get the recognition she deserves for her great songs, her charity foundations and the concerts she gives to her fans . I think we should be grateful to listen to such a great singer and poet , she is an inspiration to us all.
