Hi EDAs, I just wanted to let you know our EDA Jewel airplay list has been updated and re-arranged for easier station badgering. ;-) In case you're new to the EDA List, the EDA Jewel Airplay Webpage is a webpage set up to help promote Jewel's music on radio and television stations. A few months ago I started the page dedicated to providing a simple way to concentrate the power of the EDAs into a voice that can be used to promote Jewel's songs on the radio. I've compiled a list of the song request e-mail addresses of several radio stations and music channels together, and linked them so that we can e-mail them and request that they play Jewel's songs more often. All you have to do is visit the page once a week and click on each of the e-mail links and ask that they play Jewel's music It's just that easy. Remember to visit the site at least once a week and click on the links. Persistance is the key in making this work. You have to listen to a random radio station that is given by an answering machine a few days before the taping. Then, on this random radio station, at a random time, they will announce that tickets are available, and you dash to the studio to pick them up. That being said, I doubt I can get tickets, even though I live rather close to the studio. However, I would still love to see Jewel in person when she comes to Austin. Does anyone know if Jewel is going to be doing any public appearances while in Austin? How can I get tickets to a taping? Answer: There are five steps for obtaining Austin City Limits tickets. 1.Please call the KLRU Hotline at (512) 475-9077. 2.Listen carefully to the message and find out the artist, taping date, time and which radio station(s) to listen to for the ticket distribution announcement. 3.Listen closely to that radio station in the morning and afternoons. That radio station(s) will announce what time the tickets will be given away usually within an hour from the announcement. 4.When you hear the announcement, come to KLRU immediately, located in Communication Building "B" at the corner of 26th Street and Guadeloupe on the University of Texas campus, for the ticket distribution. Tickets go *very quickly*, sometimes within five minutes of the announced giveaway time. Tickets are distributed by KLRU staff and are free on a first-come, first-served basis. Two tickets per person are allowed. Unfortunately a ticket does not guarantee admission to the taping. However, KLRU strives to admit every ticket holder for every taping. Fire codes limit our capacity to 400 audience members. In order to be assured of a full house for the taping, KLRU distributes in excess of 400 tickets to account for the "no-show" factor. Our advice is *arrive early* on the night of the taping.
