I got the Jewel home video yesterday evening at Best Buy, and I watched it three times last night. I loved it so much. When I get rich and famous (hah!) I'm going to buy outtake Spirit shoot prints from Matthew Rolston (They should sell them at the Jewel store; the curly haired one were so beautiful and the ones they didn't use that were hanging up to dry at one point were also very spiffy).. I loved the part where she rocked out the tough biker crowd and then yodeled.. Okay, I'll stop wth details for those who didn't get it yet.. But don't wait, it is so good! I'm happy to finally see some clear concert footage from the Spirit tour, even though her dancing around kind of made me groan.. I can't wait till she picks up the guitar for a better percentage of her songs.. I was like 'Jewel! What are you doing??'.. Anyway, I'm off.. I know some of the angels have noticed it. She told the Romeo and Juliet story about the song "Face of Love," and then she sang at a benefit concert for breast cancer (you can find the Real Audio/Video of this on the Jewel Audio Only Page-- e-mail me for info) and said that it was for her best friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her eyes teared up during the song and everything. The stories of Last Dance Rodeo probably work the same way. She probably just changed the story a little bit to entertain her audience a little more or to better suit her surroundings. Hope this sheds some light, Drew :o) the angel with no name ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Dec 1999 19:23:45 GMT From: "Catherine Cray" Subject: * little observation Just a litte observation folks, did anyone else see the blurb written on the official website about the contests, is it just me or does it say 'awful layout of lyrics' when its talking bout the tourbooks you can win? Subject: * NJC: Updated Tara Austin show list! Here's an updated list of everyone's name whose told me they intend on going to one or more of the Tara MacLean shows in Austin, TX on January 21-23, 2000. If you're interested in going to this and meeting fellow EDA's and Tara fan's, e-mail me and I can add you to the list. The show is FREE all 3 nights, start's at 8:00pm, and is at a coffeehouse called Ruta Maya. I don't think there is a minimum age requirement, since it's not at a bar or club. Most going are between 16 and 30. If you see someone's name from your area and want to go but don't have transportation of your own, you may be able to work out a carpool with them. When NBC interviewed the girl she went to her CD player and turned on Near You Always. They showed her room and I think there was even a Jewel poster on her wall. The whole interview was about how brave she was for taking the time to warn others even though she had just been shot. It seems that maybe Jewel is a big inspiration to her and it made my day to see Jewel mentioned in such a touching story.
