Just thought that I would through in my $.02 on Jewel's performance last night. Personally, I think she sounded exquisite. Does anyone happen to know when this special was taped? Seeing as she has been battling pneumonia in recent weeks, I thought that she gave a fine show, unhampered by illness. I did think that "Ave Maria" would have been a better musical selection for Jewel rather than 98 Degrees. Not to offend anyone who happens to be fans of the group, but I think that "Ave Maria" requires a certain vocal dexterity and control that I just did not get from their rendition. Seeing as the song has been a favorite of mine for some time, I honestly did not think it was done justice on this particular occasion. Were the artists responsible for picking their particular selections or was this the work of the organizers? Anyone, anyone? Take care. Michele P.S. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by Christina Aguilera. Though I'm not normally a fan of the so-called "teeny-bopper pop" artists, I think she has a very powerful voice with a lot of potential.
