The fact that I'm 17, unemployed, starting college and dependent upon my parents for income is the reason I haven't donated to HGH, despite the fact that I think it is a wonderful cause and I would LOVE to be able to "give back" to Jewel in this way. I just wanted to reiterate what Kevin said, that this list is made up of a lot of young people who may be in a similar position. The fact that I haven't donated doesn't mean that care any less about Jewel or the charity itself. I dont think Jewel will be "disapointed" at all. yeah, i will admit, we have raised 2600 dollars, and only 130ish eda's have donated, but some people procrastinate, dont ahve the extra money, dont kno what to do, or are just not even sure what's going on. I myself, am on the card project team, and just sent my money today, because i have 3 jobs, and school... its called time. I think that those who have already donated, are by far real angels, and personally i thank you. As far as those who have not, no big deal... they have been aware of this for well over a month, and its not somthign htey MUST do. naturally, it would be great if they could donate, but heck, i understand. Lets not be selfish, and demanding, by posting about negatives " hey why haven tu donated.. only 130 people have donated we ONLY raised 2600 dollars..." yada yada... how bout .." thanks so much for that 2600, thanks for those 130.... thanks for caring.. that is 2600 that the project didnt have before now isnt it. anyway, im gonna chill out.. im just tired of people whining cause of what we dont have instead of what we do. so... a huge THANKS to those who have worked hard to make this gift. thats it :o) "Who will save your soul, if you wont save your own?" He has now right to pressurise people into sending their money off. It is a proven fact that more people get themselves in to money problems at this time of the year than any other. Although I totally agree with the foundation, I think that the fans are doing more than enough by buying Jewels CD. Afterall she does make enough from her record sales, We do all know that we are way over charged CDs and tapes these days. So well done to the fans have already done their part by buying her music. And also to the people who have donated. But please stop trying to put pressure onto us other Angels. I was reading the MN paper today, and in the movie section there was an article about pop stars that are in movies. There's a big picture of Jewel and Skeet riding horses at the top, and the caption says: "In Civil War saga "Ride With the Devil," pop artist Jewel is a gem. Shown here with co-star Skeet Ulrich, her charisma and feisty line delivery brand her as a natural" And here's what was written about Jewel: "...Jewel, whose two albums, numerous videos and a book of verse have made her the darling of recording artists making the leap to the big screen this year. She start in "Ride With the Devil," a Civil War saga, scheduled to open Dec. 17. "As the headstrong single mother whose Rebel lover, played by Skeet Ulrich, has been killed in a guerrilla skirmish, the recording artist acquits herself quite nicely. Her charisma and feisty line delivery brand her as a natural, but her ease in front of the camera can mean only one thing: She has been accruing valuable acting experience in her music videos." ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Dec 1999 15:50:54 -0800 From: Phillip Jacques Subject: * Another Idea For HGH Donations Here is a simple suggestion to those of you who don't have enough money to spare out of your own pockets to give to HGH - go to your friends and family and ask for donations. She looks about 12-15 yrs old, brown hair,, black shirt and either dark blue or black (i cant tell from the picture) kinda stripes (kinda plaidish) pants with a white background. Well I was reading someone's post. And forgive me, I forgot his/her name- but someone mentioned that their father wouldn't let them donate online cause he didn't trust it and stuff. They opologized to all of us becuase they weren't able to. I felt really badly becuase they seemed honestly upset. They said "I'm so sorry," Like they had done something horrible to us. And this is what I think- :) Jewel is a very loving person. I tend to believe that she is a very understanding person as well. She cares about mankind and is trying to make a diffrence. Just because you can't donate money to HGH doesn't make you a bad person or anything, it just means you can't and that's fine. But you can do other things if you wish. Personally I can't donate any money. But every year I clean out my closet and give all the cloths that I no longer wear away to a women's shelter. If you see a Salvation Army guy (or whatever bell ringer thingy that is where ever you are), then give em' a qaurter. Do it in the name of Jewel. Take your coats to those "Coats for kids" or something like "Toys for Tots". Whatever floats your boat. Money is not the only thing that you can give. Just give with love and know that you are doing something good!!!! ;) So all you lovely angels- have a very merry Christmas.....
