Please send all ideas to me. Whether you actually design something and scan it or if you just have some ideas... type them up and send them to me! (Please send JPGs or GIFs) I'm thinking to print this we should do it on either an 8.5x11 or 11x17 sheet of paper folded in half. (These sizes I can print on an ink jet.) Take into consideration that your design should fit well either within 8.5x5.5 or 11x8.5 size. If anyone has access to a better way to print this please also let me know! Some people have considered using the idea of water or the ocean in the card design and don't forget it's also the 'Holiday Season!' So keep it jolly! 8) Thanks! -Chris- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Nov 1999 17:09:27 +1100 From: "Jennifer" Subject: * Quicktime videos? Does anyone know where I can download Quicktime videos of Jupiter or WSIT or anything else of Jewel for that matter? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Nov 1999 00:29:49 -0600 From: Big Sexy Angel Subject: * Christmas present, let's re think... Hey Angels, I saw someone's post a second ago and it made realize something! The purpose of Higher ground for Humanity and EDAF is to spread the word to do good! To make everyone aware of the problems that we face and to help be apart of the solution! I'm sure sending money would be ok but wouldn't you rather donate yourself? Wouldn't you rather get your hands dirty than reach into your pocket? I would! We had a project going (sort of) on EDAF to give jewel a birthday present of volunteering! I think, rather than putting in $5, why wont we put 5 hours of volunteering in? We can make a promise to Jewel and HGH to work a certain amount of time and mail them the list of everyone! I think this would truly be a great gift! I'm still working on my hours, i started a year ago donating all my hours to Jewel and it's going good! Let me know what you think! What I propose is that I become sort of a Editorial Team leader, and you could all send your ideas to me about what you feel should be included in the card, and I could then try to piece together a greeting that contained the vast majority of these sentiments. I am pretty sure that my post about wanting to write the greeting was posted to the list because I got a reply to it (it was the one where I listed the qualifications I felt would make me a good writer). In any event, with the lists approval, I could start taking submissions at once, and I am sure that I can have something done in plenty of time to get it to Jewel. Alan, Mike, anyone....drop me a line with thoughts on the idea. I'd like to get started ASAP if the idea is OK with you. Thankyou. Secondly about foreign currency it is ALOT cheaper to gather the foreign currency before changing it to avoid paying the commission over and over again. The way it works out, the commission may cost as much as the actual contribution. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Nov 1999 23:06:30 PST From: "Jennifer McBride" Subject: * Clearwater Christmas 1999?? Hello Beautiful Angels, As the millionth person to say so, I am in agreement that the Christmas HGH/Clearwater donation gift is a wonderful, inspiring, and encouraging idea. But also, in response to what Scott S. the "Big Sexy Angel" wrote, what if we also made some sort of momento to not only remember this incredible project the EDAs put together in the future, but also as a way to create more money for the cause? For instance, if we made "Clearwater Christmas 1999" T-Shirts or something? (the name is just an example, but maybe it would fit??) If T-Shirts are made in bulk, say each shirt costs about $7 to produce...if we sold them for $10 to list members and other contributors.....that $3 profit could go to the Clearwater project as an additional donation!! Just an idea, and the shirtS (or perhaps some other sort of momento) would be great to remember this project by, and maybe even cool Christmas gifts too..... anyone have an opinion on this idea? We have all been frantic with ideas about the giving back. And I am sure Jewel appreciates this cause set forth right now much more than a personal gift, so Bear in mind this is only for after card donations. What if we got jewel a secondary gift for her personal use, I would be happy to be flooded with Ideas, One possibility I thought of was to get her a new saddle for her horse, that way she would ever be reminded of her loving fans in her spare time and we could take claim to helping keep her horse one of show. I think that we should keep trowing out ideas for a while, but lets see what mr. bb and all the people at HGH including Shane, have to say. Just what if... someone we're to buy loads (HGH happy) and sell them for a profit (person happy). Just one of the possibilities and I truely doubt an EDA would do such a thing, but I am just pointing out that the original idea cannot be touched in its purity. I suggest sticking to that.
