Shenk" Subject: * What's Simple is Not Only True , It's Easier ! Hi , All . I do not believe the idea of giving top privileges for the project to the top donor is a good idea , and I don't think it fits in with the spirit of Jewel , either . Some great fans and supporters of Jewel and HGH don't have much money , but a lot of spirit . I believe that gifts given annonymously ( the amount ) are viewed as the most honorable . We can all donate privately to HGH as much as we want / can . But I see THIS Christmas gift fund and card--in honor of Jewel's contribution to our lives-- as a project to unite us in giving back , and we should all be able to equally share in it . And lets make it simple , and just seek Alan's help in setting up a special collection at HGH , keeping track of our separate EDA donations with a list of names , and then that list can simply be sent to the team creating the card . Keep it simple ! It's really not so complicated !!! your eda friend , --Joe ===== joeshenk@yahoo.com My Home Page (Currently on KOSOVO ,etc.) : http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill/congress/8420 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I'm from the UK. You can buy US dollars from your bank for a small charge. My bank is HBSC?? or what used to be called Midland Bank & they allow you to buy $ with a charge of £3 + the equivalent in £'s of the $ that you want to buy. So if you buy $10- I think that's £6...... altogether, you'd have to pay £9. Hope that makes sense. I'm pretty sure that you can buy just $5, I've bought just $15 before & that was fine. They have the $ for you in 3 working days. So even the non US EDA's can contribute towards this great idea:)))) Debbie http://www.stevepoltz.cwc.net ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Nov 1999 12:49:48 -0400 From: angela.matheson@ns.sympatico.ca (Angela Matheson) Subject: * Re: Trying to organise things, READ THIS!! I think the message from each country is a good idea. I am willing to volunteer to help write the one from Canada :) Any other Canadians want to do it too? We can do it together. As for the currency thing, I was wondering about that too. If I sent $5.00 Canadian it would only be like 2.50 american or something like that. So what if we just say that we all send 5.00 American for the project? It makes it a lot easier. Possibly get blank Holiday cards and we could write our very own personal message And then, send them to one person...I don't know, I just think it would make the whole deal a little more personal. I guess It would take a lot of cards and if we could get some people to volunteer to make them or buy them. I guess I'm not making much sense so I'll shut up now! Does anyone get what I'm trying to say?! Hey everybody, I'd love to volunteer to help design and make Jewel's Christmas Card. I'm currently a senior in my high school and have been in the Advanced Art class for 3 years now. I've been an EDA for 4 and a half years and think that this idea is a wonderful way to thank Jewel for everything she has given us. Anyway, I'm not too sure how all of you want this to work, but I'd be happy to send my ideas to the creator of the card or have people send their ideas to me! I'm just saying that if there's anything I can do to help with this, I'm totally up for it!
