In the 3 weeks or so since I've subscribed, I've seen supposed fans falsely suggest that Jewel was pregnant, try to say that Jewel & Steve Poltz should still be together (like her fans should get to dictate her personal life), attempt to get all the subscribers of this list to go to some "Enquirer" on-line link to see a picture of Jewel's alleged new cowboy boyfriend... and now, someone questioned Jewel's religion? Umm.. I don't understand. Why, should Jewel fans, simply by being fans, have a right to know every detail about her life? I'm sorry, but her Christianity, or lack thereof, is none of anyone's business. She's an incredibly talented performer; that's really all that matters. I think that it is logical for someone to wonder about Jewel's religion. I know I do. We all know of the beautiful spiritual content of her songs, and being one myself it is easy to find Christian undertones in her writing. For example: "We are given to a God to put are faith there in, but to be forgiven we much first believe in sin". And, though it is not any of my business, when I hear things like that I can't stop myself from wondering if she is a Christian, not because I want to convert her if she's not, not because I want to "Save her Soul", but because her words are so inspiration that I wonder if they are from God. Lauren Hill has said to the press that all her words are not hers, but the words that God has given to her to say. Personally, I believe Jewel's words are much more spiritual than Lauren's, Thus cause me to wonder if God is acting though her.
