(here it is) [Mike Connell and allllll others! I also have seen the HUGE rock on her finger at other times and I wondered the same thing. I put a post on a message board but there were no respnses... Does anyone know? I thought she was single, but... I guess it could just be a very pricey ring, but it sure looks like an engagement ring. Well If she is getting married, I think she should marry steve :) <3 The barefoot angel, Liz ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Aug 1999 23:56:22 EDT From: MiStiCBuRn@aol.com Subject: Re: * . that was the most beautiful post i have read in a long time and i am in 100% agreement with you...the scrutinization over her lately has been making me very upset...i mean if we heard her on Storytellers when she was saying that this business seems more and more like business everyday...scrutinizing her looks, worrying about the next single. It takes away from the real reason she got into the business, a love of music, fun, and a chance to reach others. She said how sometimes she begins to get depressed about where she is at this state and sometimes ponders the thought of quiting all together. But then, she will get a letter from an EDA, an Everyday Angel, one of us, telling her how much we love her songs and her as a person, and it will give her the strength to go on and continue in such a corrupted business. This is the part of the show that Jewel thanks us, the EDAS, for staying with her and giving her the strength to go on. Then i think back to the posts of recent months, complaining about her clothes, her new image, her new songs, new lyrics, music videos...and i sat and thought about this. If only she knew what was truly going on. Some of us who are giving her the strength to go on are also the ones that are critiquing her every move and only finding the negatives rather than embracing the positives. We are doing exactly what she hates about the business, scrutinizing her. And then i get really upset. If only she read these posts and heard what was truly going on...could you imagine what she must feel when she realizes that her supposedly most devoted fans are finding all the bad points about her and focusing on them. I think that every one of us should take some time and think about that. Every positive of Jewel wipes out her negatives by far. She is only a human being, (even though i believe that she may be an angel living amongst us) and has both goods and bads. It's bad enough that she has people that aren't her fans bringing out the negatives in her....but it is just pitiful when her EDAs are doing the same exact thing. Whoever Jewel will become and be, I will still be a fan, and you will never hear me say one bad thing about her on this list. She has inspired me in so many ways, and reached me with words, and showed me that if there are people like her on this planet that is filled with such terror and hatred, that maybe it isn't so bad after all, and there is goodness in it, if only there were more people like her! If only there were more people like her! *the mystic angel* Jordana "I'd rather see the world from another angle."-Jewel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Aug 1999 23:51:59 EDT From: FLoWeR2227@aol.com Subject: * Darien Lake Concert in New York on Saturday!!! :) hey angels, wow this was such a great concert! i haven't gone to a jewel concert since about 2 years, and i was soo happy to go, Yada Yada Yada. i don't know if any of you EDA's saw me there, i was the blonde chickie in the jean flares and dark red tank top w/ silver dragons on it and lots of groovy jewelery, and a brown/orange paterned hankercheif worn in my hair :) this is my rendition of the concert. my seats were fairly good :) i don't have much opinion on rusted root, i mean i like them, they're fun and all, but i was so anxious to see/ hear steve and jewel!!!!! ok well next would b steve, he is so Damn Cool!!!!!! i have decided that he is great after seeing him play! hes so funny (i absolutely Loved the ABC's of love!!!!!), and he seems like such a friendly person from what i hear from you guys.... ok and well he IS gorgeous, i have ot say. heheh i'm really curious how many of jewel's songs and poems are about him, and likewise. she has good taste :) i bought steve's cd 'one left shoe' on impulse, and i like it alot ( tho i am pissed because i left it in my friends car and i want to listen to it now! ). now to jewel....wow. i deem it a Great concert because i laughed and cried alot. Hands really got to me, it has never nesacerely(i cannot for the Life of me spell that word, dammit) been a fav song by jewel of mine, but recently i just have been loving the message it sends (partly "i am never broken"), and the message has been very important to me latly, hehe but i'm not here to spew personal problems! i loved it when Jewel and Steve were singing YWMFM and looking at each other...it was one of the most romantic things i have ever seen in my life considering their history!!!!!!!!!! :) i'm glad she played chime bells, i was hoping for more unreleased stuff( there was like 4 that she played) but its all good, what i heard was beautiful! and i love it when she growls and when she scats. ok this is my complaint paragragh....first of alll i would like to put a curse on the security guard at the gate who would not let me bring in my half-eaten banana ..i had to finish it on the spot. heheh well...maybe not a curse, maybe something like he stubs his toe tomarrow, that sounds good :) second of all, TOMMY HILFIGER . why is he the sponser?? i don't get it. i won't start on how much i am sick of corprate sponsers such as him. i don't understand why Lilith was sponsered by tommy girl, dude, what the freak!??! i am fortunate tho, to have gone to jewel on saturday, and the Lilith Fair on sunday. i was working at Lilith for Southern Students for Choice(obviously a pro-choice organization) at a stand, i didn't see much of the show. i had a great time tho!! i sold cool buttons and bumperstickers (e.i. "Sorry i missed church, i was busy practicing witch craft and becoming a lesbian") and i got to ask people to sign petitions. the petition part was really cool because there was so many different kinds of people that i talked to like uncertain 13 year olds, and 33 year old guys who ask me to hold their beer while they fill out the form (ok that was only once). i love learning people's opinions about things and whatnot :) well, i'll wrap this up now! this is th longest i have ever posted, wow. i hope you enjoy my novel! i'll close saying that the Jewel concert was absolutly great, it was right up there with this Ani Difranco(she rocks my world!!!) concert i went to once....awesome. thank you for reading :) Stay Beautiful, *Rose* the Artistic Angel "she used color carelessly, painting his portrait a thousand times..or maybe just his smile" ~ You know who :) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Aug 1999 00:00:15 EDT From: FMA4276@aol.com Subject: * Tampa show anyone?
