But let me be the first to plead to anybody that copied the show. I would love to get a copy. PLEASE! Specific reasons for my begging will be in the following review. Ok, I won't comment on Rusted Root. But Steve was great, I guess they had a rough night in Boston after the show. Steve mentioned he was still drunk. He showed us his but again, he's funny. He also brought another girl on stage, told her she was beautiful and sang a new song to her. On to Jewel. Most beautiful as ever! The show was a little different to the two previous ones I saw; PNC Ampitheater NJ and Jones Beach NY. She seemed a little tired for the first couple of songs. I feel bad for her. She works hard to play a show almost every night in a different city. Even though I would give my arm to watch her every night, I think she deserves some time to herself (that's killing me to say, but I think it's a little selfish to push her for my personal enjoyment.) So she opened with Near You Always. After a few songs, she got into it a little bit more. This show was a little more old school Jewel. A little more personal. She talked a lot (fine with me). Told us she stalked Steve for about a year. During her solo part of the show, she brought back Doug (Guitar player) and I forgot his name, but the piano player, and she played a song she said she had played one time in New Orleans. I've never heard it before. Then she played Don't (one of my all time favorites so it was a real treat). She also sang Wolf and Dolphin, another huge treat. I loved how the show was so much different than the others. Seemed as if Jewel was in a different type of mood last night. She moved on to Do You and then the usual rock songs. During her encore, she sang Absence of Fear and then she read a poem from her poetry book, then sang Chime Bells. So to sum it up, it was a different show than the previous two, but I loved it!! To tell you the truth, she could come out and just stand there for an hour and a half and not say anything and I would love it. Well, I feel fortunate because I had incredible seats, Fifth row - center. About half way through the show, the security staff came up to us and told us we could go right up to the stage. I was just to the left of center. I think Jewel was about 2 feet away, and I could swear she looked at me a few times because I was mouthing every word to every song. (Well, at least just let me think she was looking at me.) Did anyone see me, I was the tall guy with the Jewel Spirit Tour shirt on in the front, right at the stage. Well the show was over Jewel left, Steve and the others threw their guitar picks, just missed getting one. But then the staff came on and was clearing the stage, and one of the ladies took the towel Steve was using during the show and threw it. I swear I must have jumped 5 feet in the air, helps to have long arms to, but I grabbed it out of the air. Did anybody see me? Somebody got Jewel's water bottle I think. So I got Steve's towel, by the way, on the way out, some dude offered me $20 for it, I said no. I am willing to trade it for something personal of Jewel's though. Please let me know. Here's most of the setlist, not sure of the order or if any are missing. Some Angel could help if you have the correct list. 1. Near You Always 2. What's Simple Is True 3. Hands 4. Down 5. She may as well have just read it. I didnt like it at all. BUT other than that the rest of the CD was great and very worth buying, i was just dissappointed with the first song. But thats just my opinion. Luv ya, Buh-Bye. I think the next single might be Life Uncommon but I was kind of hoping Do You or Absence of Fear would be a single.
