It wasn't as long as the Jones Beach show, and she didn't really do much of an encore tonight, but it was still great. Her only encore performance was a capella Chime Bells. And she did "You're In Cleveland Today"...I love that song!!! And Jewel asked us if we had seen the making of the video on MTV last night:) Many of had I guess from the response she got. My sister and I HAD 9th row seats, but we work right near the Tweeter Center and on our lunch our we took a ride up. I asked the lady if there were any good seats, and what do you know...4th row!! That was cool, and by the end of the show we were leaning right on the stage:) I also got Doug Pettibone's autograph before the show, and when Brady was walking off stage, I got one of his drumsticks for my sister because I know she wanted it so bad! I did too, but I wanted to let her have something cool for a change! Well I have to work a 12-hour day tomorrow starting at 7am, so I better get my ass to bed!! - -Nicole:) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jul 1999 00:58:42 EDT From: EPhili2568@aol.com Subject: * Tabs I need Tabs For Amen!!! Hi, i was wondering if Jupiter is going to be released as a single. For some reason, I just like the radio version better than the album.......maybe it's just the embellishments. Anyway, if you know or found it anywhere, please let me know. Also, I was wondering if anyone in the US has found Spirit w/ the bonus cd anywhere besides CDnow, i've been looking everywhere, and i'm hoping i don't have to have it special ordered. I just want it REALLY bad! I used to always talk about my love for Jewel and try to explain it to him. This is what he recently wrote me: "By the way in May 1999 I was in a Jewel concert in Stuttgart. This was really great, this was the first time I saw Jewel in reality. Are you still a Jewel fan ?" I think its kinda cool that through our talking about Jewel to others we can make Jewel fans all over the world! Corny but cool! O:) Love Always, *~Kristen~* {{ThE aNgEl StAnDiNg By}} ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jul 1999 01:19:53 EDT From: FumblyFat@aol.com Subject: * woodstock/jupiter video hey guys, I too was very disappointed at MTV. Someone mentioned it, they should have covered live without commercial interruption, and given other artists some air time. Monday I tuned in to see if there was any new footage, and I think Loder or someone said some clips of "Jewel and others that haven't been shown yet" so I waited but it turned out to be the same 1515 report from Sunday night. Blah! Fortunately I got to listen to PPV and she was incredible. I was getting chills! Just the concept of hearing her live but not seeing her I think was very comforting since I couldn't be there. Kind of eerie but very beautiful. She was amazing and I was very surprised to hear Race Car Driver-- I thought she'd forgotten that one too! Very rockin' performance overall. I felt like her mom or somebody, just proud that she can show the crowd this side of her. yea!! About the video, well I love the images and the effects but all together, with the song, it didn't really do much for me. Guess I was looking for more of a plot or some kind of sequence. It was impressive to see how videos were shot too. Musicians say they love making them but this show really gives you a good look at the whole process. With stuff like this, MTV kinda makes up for the lack of music video playing (though I'm loving Road Rules this season!! anyone agree?) The new version is awesome too! Oh yea! Is there anyone in the NY area who listened to 92.3 KROCK's broadcast of Woodstock? I didn't know they had been doing it live, or for how long-- did they air Jewel at all? Or any of the female artists for that matter... Thanks! That's all I or anyone knows at this point. Pertinent info will be posted as it is made known. The media news about Jewel acting on Dawson's Creek next season is "baloney". The J-team knows nothing about this and Jewel has not agreed to do it. For those asking, Jewel's puppy Jango (seen on the Making The Video special on MTV) is a purebred beagle. (Cute, wasn't he?) I was running kind of late cause somehow I missed a 95 South junction and ended up on 3 South. At 7 I stopped at a gas station for directions and it turned out I was way off course! I did make it in time to catch the end of Rusted Root whom I had never heard before but really enjoyed. Steve Poltz was really great. I loved that one song I believe he called it the ABC's of love. And it was cool of him to pull that girl from the crowd and sing to her. But I think the highlight of his performance was his rendition of 'Waterfall'. When he got to that rap at the end I couldn't stop laughing. I'd really enjoy seeing him perform again sometime. The girl sitting next to me had never heard of him so I told her that he and Jewel were good friends and have cowritten several songs together. I also mention that he was the guy in the YWMFM video and she thought that was really cool. Jewel played a great mix of songs. Some from POY some from Spirit and a couple I hadn't heard before. Although I found it kind of funny when she played Love Me Just Leave Me Alone and mentioned she had just wrote it. Didn't she say that a year or two ago at Harborlights? She didn't really tell any stories but it was funny when she had Steve sing his version of YWMFM. Anyway it was a great show. I didn't meet up with any of you there but I still had fun. I also managed to get some pictures and if they turn out okay I'll see what I can do to get people copies or maybe have them put up on someones website. ~Matt ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jul 1999 15:27:48 EDT From: MadWatcher@aol.com Subject: * Target CD The Target near me is not selling the promotional Jewel CD.
