I can give you lots of info other than when it may be released as the next single. Details are still being ironed out, but as far as I know, it is being considered for the next single. Here's other miscellaneous details about the recording: "Jupiter" was re-recorded in London on May 20th & 21st with Jewel's touring band. They mixed it on the 22nd. The recording took place at Olympic Studios in London. (Trivia...Among other classic albums, The Rolling Stones recorded Beggars Banquet at Olympia...& Jewel has been groovin to their "Sticky Fingers" album lately....) The string section on the re-recorded "Jupiter" has the same arranger and string section as on The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony". It's in 4/4 time as apposed to 3/4 on the album version. A new VH1/MTV video will likely happen too. While I'm traveling, various news is bound to pop up. Just keep each other informed & check the website. I will only have sporadic access to email & will not be answering much, but everything I'm currently aware of is already on the www.jeweljk.com calendar. Hope to meet a lot of you in San Diego next weekend. To everyone else: Have a good one & seeya in July, MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 19:19:45 EDT From: Jesapeet@aol.com Subject: * Hi again - About my sister A few of you asked in more detail about her. So I thought I would explain. My little sister was born on June 21, she would have been 4. . . on monday. She had Down's Syndrome. She had heart surgery when she was only a few months old. Ever since then she's had problems. Approximately 4 mths ago she went into the hospital for pneumonia. She then got a blood infection. . . and they got rid of the pneumonia and the blood infection. . but her lung somehow got punctured. .. thus causing her to be relapse. Well, to make an extremely long story short. She finally was only a few days from release and then last friday. . a week ago today. . .she got a viral infection. And her body could not take the strain anymore, and at 120am Friday, June 18, Amber Lynn Peterson died. My little sister was such a sweet girl. She loved when I played my guitar for her. . . and she was a Jewel fan, cause whenever I sang Jewel to her she just perked up. A few good things have came out of this. I got the chance to love a sweet girl, And she has the chance to help another sweet child survive. Her heart valves. .that were corrected/replaced are going to be donated so that another child has a chance to love and be loved. Thank you. I just had one comment about your post....you said it was for EDAs only which is fine, but you said the were the most devoted Jewel fans, and I don't agree with that. I don't think you have to be an EDA to be a Jewel fan and certainly not to be the most devoted. I have a friend who is not an EDA and I consider a bigger fan than me. I just wanted to make that point. Shelia ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 15:29:55 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: * MrBB-HGH at EDA Gathering 6/26 Hi all SoCal EDAs! This should be of interest to many, if not all, of you. Those of you that have any interest in learning more about Jewel & Nedra's foundation, Higher Ground For Humanity, should make a point to go to the June 26th EDA Gathering & Concert in Ocean Beach at New Break On The Beach beginning at noon. There's already plenty of good reasons to be there, but I wanted to let you know that HGH staff & EDAFoundation folks will be dropping in to chat with EDAs & discuss how YOU can make a difference. Jewel's mom & manager Nedra has also expressed interest in joining us, but she's not sure if it's possible yet. I'd advise getting there a bit early as space is limited & we'd like to chat with as many EDAs as possible from noon to one, prior to the performers. There's also the OB Street Fair going on that day, so it'll be a fun area (but busy!). Regardless of whether Nedra can make it, interesting people will be attending in addition to the several live performances scheduled. Should be a real good day & I look forward to meeting more of you there before Jewel's hometown concert that night. Here's the additional info from previous posts (below). Seeya there!
