Hi Everbody, Here we are again, agressively stating our opinions on Jewel changing again. And believe me, its better to try out something different when your young. I don't really know where I'm going with this but, bear with me :-). Somebody got really P.O.ed about Jewel not playing in coffeehouses anymore and playing more rock guitar. I think that Jewel is just making up for the time lost on not knowing the history of rock and roll. All those years listening to Cole Porter and Ella Fitzgerald have gotta have taken their toll on the woman. Now shes into whoever she's listening to now. I say thats good for her to listen to different artists and try musically experimenting. Of course, I hope my little insight hasn't stopped anybody's bantering about the woman. She's only got the rest of her life to do whatever she wants...C'mon people, give her a little slack! :-) Go kick a plywood cow or something. Hi everyone, Just a little note to say that I saw Jewel in Glasgow on the 8th May 1999 and she was fantastic!! Better than i could ever have imagined. She was hysterical as well, telling the most humorous anecdotes between songs. Anyway after the show i rushed round to the stage entrance and to my surprise i was the only one their. Jewel's tour bus was waiting for her and it wasn't long before Steve Plotz arrived and started chatting away. He signed my programme and i got a photo of him. Then about ten minutes later Jewel came out!! She was wearing this funky hat and the trendiest denim jacket. She was only too happy to chat and sign her poetry book for me and when i told her how amazing her concert was and how inspirational a person she was, she looked very touched and embarrassed at the attention, making me realise how down to earth she is. I wish now however i had given her something, however i did not think in my wildest dreams that i would meet her, so unfortunately i did not have anything with me, except kind words. What struck me the most about meeting her was how naturally beautiful she is and extremely kind and sincere. Even have the most gorgeous photos of her that will be treasured forever. Jewel is a star of a person and now that i have met my idol and she was even cooler than i thought i am now the happiest gal in the world.
