This will clear it up. Jewel is scheduled for TWO upcoming appearances on the The Today Show. The first will be the day after The EDAs infiltrate NYC for the VH1 "Storytellers" show. That's this Thursday morning, June 10th. This appearance is in conjunction with the Today Show's current "Save The Music" campaign. Jewel will ALSO perform as part of The Today Show's "Summer Concert Series" the morning of her Homdel NJ concert, Friday July 23rd. As we approach the weekend of madness, you might notice a few So Cal EDAs have sprouted grey hairs. Not to worry, we have a hair-coloring gathering planned for July. (j/k) :-) Yes -- it is approaching the time of our not-so-little EDA concert in San Diego. So be sure to make your reservations soon! June 26th @ noon is the gathering, music starting at 1pm. We have managed to coerce Elizabeth Hummel and Jason Mraz into performing, as well as several EDA performers. After our EDA concert, we'll be at both the Coors Amphitheatre (6/26) and Irvine Meadows (6/27) Jewel concerts. So look for us there. :-) But don't forget -- this coming Saturday is our outing to the Renaissance Faire. We're meeting at the Edwards Theatre at the Ontario Mills Mall at 9:30am. Ontario Mills is just a few miles down from the 91/15 freeway interchange. (Take the 91 West to the 15 North -- follow the signs!) We'll most likely be at the Faire all day (with some of us in costume), so hope to see you there! All of this has been updated at the So Cal EDA website, so stop by and check it out! http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Den/7151/calendar.html Lori Keats' Angel email: larthur@fullerton.edu ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Jun 1999 23:00:08 +0200 From: "Roel Cobben" Subject: RE: * New Release / Spirit DOUBLE CD Hey, > I just learn that a spirit double CD will be released here in france > on June, 26 th. > I think ( i did not saw the tracklisiting ) that will be the one from > concerts or with a live perfomances CD. Big news (I think so). I was at my local Virgin Megastore and came across this CD called Modern Day Storytellers that said "Includes rare and never-before-released tracks from JEWEL, Paula Cole, Matthew Sweet, Aimee Mann" so I, of course flipped it over and saw YWMFM and thought "another version?" but decided to get it anyway. I listened to it and it is so cool!!! It starts out with this weird grunge/alternative sounding electric guitar all dark and stuff. Just electric guitar and bongos. Then after the first part, the acoustic guitar and drums kick in and there are some nifty-cool harmonies and strange but good backing vocals. But the chorus is just the "I know you that you love me" part - - no "Dreams last so long. . ." It's really wonderful. The tracks are as follows: *1 Matthew Sweet "Ultrasuede" (Studio Outtake) 2 Chris Mars "Popular Creeps" 3 Marshall Crenshaw "What Do You Dream Of?" 4 Liz Phair "X-Ray Man" 5 Fiona Apple "Shadowboxer" 6 Jeff Buckley (AMAZING singer) "Last Goodbye" 7 Graham Parker "Soul Corruption" *8 JEWEL "YWMFM" (Live) 9 Mary Lou Lord "I'm Talking to You" 10 Ani DiFranco "Buildings and Bridges" *11 Aimee Mann "Jimmy Hoffa Jokes" (Promo Release Only) *12 Paula Cole "Bethlehem" (Original Demo Version) 13 Victoria Williams "Shoes" 14 Lenny Kravitz "I BUild This Garden For Us" Unfortunately, only the songs with asterisks are rare. The rest are just album versions. The CD is by Beloved Recordings and the # on the back is 6 1762-1013-2 6. Also, I was looking on the computer search thingie and it says Jewel is on a CD called Live From the World Cafe with WWSYS. Does anyone know about this? ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V4 #306 ***************************
