It's simple to do, and it involves no donations of any kind. I am one of two managers on the EODA list, which is through onelist. They are giving away $5000 to two of the charities of choice to the list which gains the most new members in the next two months. This list is not moderated, which some of you may not like, others I know are all for it. Either way, subscribing to this list gives all members a chance to help others. Even if you throw the email all away and not read any of it, it is still giving us the chance to give back to Jewel via charity/good dead/helping others, how would that be for a bday present?? Even if it is a bit late. I encourage all of you to join, I know the EDA list is HUGE, and I know we could win this!!! The letter from onelist is below, please read it. ONEreach is an initiative by ONElist to periodically sponsor fun and interactive programs that encourage the growth of your communities while simultaneously contributing to them. It is our hope that the ONEreach initiative will foster even stronger communities around the common interests and causes that have brought your communities together in the first place. We are kicking off ONEreach today with the "Grow to Give" Program. Through the "Grow to Give" Program, ONElist will donate $5,000 to each of two charities chosen by the two communities that grow their membership the most within the next two months. The community that grows the most in actual new ONElist subscribers and the community that grows the most as a percentage basis of new ONElist subscribers will each choose a recipient charity. ONElist will then donate $5,000 to that charity in the name of the community. All ONElist communities as of April 19, 1999 at 12:01 a.m. PDT are automatically participants in the "Grow to Give" Program. The program will run from April 19, 1999 through June 19, 1999 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. As moderators, we encourage you to inform your communities about the "Grow to Give" Program and our overall ONEreach initiative. The Program Overview is posted on our website at: http://www.onelist.com/info/onereachsplash.html Good luck to you and your community on becoming a "Grow to Give" Community!! Thanks, The ONElist Team For those of you still reading this thank you very much for your time. This really is for a good cause, one which I believe you all are interested in, just think how nice it would be to be able to give all that money to HGH!!! I know that we can make this happen with your help!! To the moderators for letting this go through, thank you very much, I know this was a long post, but I wouldn't have been so long winded if I didn't think it was for a good cause. Also, please know that the EODA's are in no way trying to compete with the EDA's, Mike and Mike have come to realize they see things a little different, and thats okay. Thank you all for you time, please subscribe today!!! Sincerely, Corina ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Apr 1999 13:43:19 -0700 From: "Arthur, Lori" Subject: Re: Why do Fumblers hate us? <> Well, as a Fumbler myself I have to say not all of us hate EDAs! :-) But I've noticed that Fumblers take Jewel at face value. The media hypes Jewel as this innocent, naive, optimistic child and that is what they see. They've never heard "God's Gift to Women" or "I Hate Valentine's Day." So they don't know that there are many sides to Jewel. But I know there are others that are on both lists and we take it in stride. Most of the time, it's all meant in fun. Don't take it too personally. There are some people out there who don't appreciate Jewel and likewise we don't appreciate their music. C'est la vie, petite. I'm done with my research and doing my drafts but I still feel i need more information about any adverse events in Jewel's childhood! Or anything that you can give me about the success she's had such as some very high points in her career! if you could help me, i'd be Grateful! Thanks! I doubt anyone does, but don't you think it would be cool if we could dig up some kind of demo tape or something of Jewel back when she was singing when she was 8 or so? I would have loved to hear her back then! I doubt they exist, but does anyone know if they do? Maybe while she was at one of those places singing w/her dad, someone taped her. Does anyone know of anything? Jenni ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 01:25:50 +0200 From: Harte Adrian Subject: Jewel/Belfast ticket for sale Hi all, Bad news for me. I am new to the mailing list....just became an Everyday Angel today!! I am very excited to have joined, it is wonderful to find people to talk to that all have so much in common with myself and each other. I was wondering....I have never heard any of Jewel's songs other than what is on "Pieces Of You" and "Spirit", which I love and adore. Would anyone be willing to make me a copy of some of her other music, off of some of these rare-released singles and imports?? If I sent a tape or two with an envelope and return postage? I would be so grateful!! I am very eager to hear more of her beautiful music. Maybe like "Save the Linoleum" or "Phyllis Barnaby' or the "You Were Meant For Me" EP that I have been reading about on the EDA page and posts. Thank you angels! I am happy to have joined your circle. Hello everyone, I was thinking we do everyday kindness acts everyday. If it is big or small if it is just making someone laugh or if it is helping someone in a volunteering effort. We do kindness acts everyday not just for May 23rd. Don't get me wrong it is a great idea to make a scrap book for Jewel and she'll love it but, Don't think that we (eda's) only do everyday kindness acts for "Jewel" we (I) do something everyday if that is at work making my co-workers or costumers laugh (lol) or if it is giving blood, picking up trash, donating money for a worthy cause...ect... So let us do all the scheduled events this Spring/Summer but Don't forget that, if you know it or not (you) do everyday kindness EVERYDAY! : -) - Josh With some WWF Attitude ;) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Apr 1999 22:24:44 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB- More media next wednesday Hi all, These things just added to next Wednesdays' (April 28th) schedule: MTV Total Request Live with Carson Daly, MTV Studios, NYC. This program is broadcast live on MTV. I think at 3pm EST, but check local listings to be certain. There are also plans to do several NYC FM station interviews that day along with the Regis & Kathy Lee Show that I previously mentioned. ( I don't know which radio stations.) For all other confirmed tour dates & media appearances, check Jewel's website calendar. Every Australian setlist is also up on the website now (including accurate Poltz setlists).
