*THE LATIN PLAYBOYS LIVE ON CONAN TONIGHT, APRIL 15TH; FANCAST TUESDAY
APRIL 20TH*

The Latin Playboys -- a collaboration between Los Lobos members David
Hidalgo and Louie Perez and renowned producer/musicians Mitchell Froom and
Tchad Blake -- will be performing live tonight, April 15th, on NBC's "Late
Night With Conan O'Brien." Check out their "Latin Trip" and get set for the
FANCASTic voyage of your life next Tuesday, April 20th, when the Playboys
take those who dare for a magic carpet across the fiber-optic ether.
David, Louie, Mitchell, and Tchad will do a question and answer session
with online fans and play songs from their critically acclaimed new album,
"DOSE."  The sonic adventure begins at 7 p.m. (ET), on Tuesday, so log on
and get ready to groove -- this one's gonna be a rattlesnake!!

*WOODSTOCK '99: THREE DAYS OF COLLECTIVE SOUL, SUGAR, AND JEWEL*

Collective Soul, Sugar Ray, and Jewel will head up to Rome, NY this summer
for Woodstock '99, the 30 year anniversary of the historic music festival.
About 250,000 fans are expected to descend upon the festival grounds --
which lie about 50 miles west of Albany -- for the July 23-25 event.
Collective Soul, Sugar Ray, and Jewel will be joined by Everlast, Rage
Against The Machine, The Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, Counting Crows, The
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, The Offspring, Foo Fighters,
Fatboy Slim, and many others.  Organizers are preparing an upscale musical
tent city with two main stages, a technology park, beer gardens, all-night
raves, a film festival, experimental theater, a hospital, 2,000 portable
toilets, and 240 acres of campgrounds.  They are not, however, planning on
rain.  The event has been moved from its usual August time slot to July,
which U.S. Weather Bureau statistics deems drier in that area.  Tickets for
the event, which go for a cool $1!
50 dollars, go on sale Sunday, April 25, and they can be purchased online
at www.ticketmaster.com.  For those who can't afford to drop that kind of
cash, or can't make it to the northeast, the event will be webcast.  A CD,
pay-per-view special and homevideo will also be available.

*MATCHBOX20 LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW, SATURDAY, MAY 1ST*

"Matchbox20 Live From Australia," an in-concert pay-per-view event, is
scheduled for broadcast on cable tv and satellite across North America on
Saturday, May 1st (check local listings).  The special will feature
electrifying performances of the band's hits -- including "Push," "3am,"
and "Real World" -- from various points on their 1998 sold-out Australian
tour.  Portions of the proceeds raised from every pay-per-view order of the
special will be donated to charity.

*MTV TAKES A LOOK AT THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF THE CORRS IN NEW SPECIAL*

The Corrs just made history for seizing the #1 and #2 spots on the UK

*SUGAR RAY KICKIN' IT LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, TUESDAY, APRIL 27TH*

The European leg of Jewels world tour in support of the multi-platinum
smash "SPIRIT" kicks off in two weeks with a sold out May 1st concert in
Belfast, Ireland.  The tour will take the acclaimed singer-songwriter
through much of Europe before wrapping up in Barcelona on June 6th.  Upon
completing the series of European dates, Jewel will return to the U.S. of
A. for a major summer tour.   Prior to leaving for the other side of the
pond, Jewel will treat American fans to a live performance on "The Tonight

*BRANDY GOES "DOUBLE PLATINUM" WITH DIANA ROSS ON ABC IN MAY*

"Double Platinum," the new made-for-TV movie starring Brandy and Diana Ross
is in post-production right now, and is all set to air on ABC in late May.
Brandy will be making a number of television appearances to support the
telefilm, so get those VCR's ready.  On April 26th, Brandy will visit
"Oprah Winfrey" (along with "Double Platinum" co-star Diana Ross), and on
May 13th she will appear on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."  If you're
worried that you're favorite singer may give up her music in order to
pursue a full-time acting career, fear not.  Brandy will performing at this
years "Essence Awards," which tape on April 30th (stay tuned to the

*KID ROCK GETS FREAKY ON LETTERMAN, TUESDAY, APRIL 27TH*

Kid Rock will be taking a break from his "Destroy Your Liver '99" tour --
which is terrorizing clubs across the country and leaving a path of
destruction in its wake that would make General Sherman blush -- to hang
out with David Letterman on April 27th.  Tune in to CBS at 11:30 p.m. (ET)
and get ready for some real animal trix!

Los Angeles Times critic Soren Baker caught the Kid's recent show at L.A.'s
Roxy, and lived to write about the "electrifying set."  Having spent some
time with Kid Rock's new album, "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE," Baker was prepared
to be dazzled by "the pimp of the nation's" microphone prowess.  What she
wasn't ready for were the Kid's displays of "deejay wizardry," his
"spirited keyboard performance," or his "impressive drum solo"!!  Suffice

Subject: a little reassurement from jewel to the eda's

*one sunny morn, in my little cove in 'ole West Virginia*
while i was in the midst of getting ready for work this morning, one very
bleary eyed girl, who was tired of watching the carnage on the news from
Kosovo, decided she would pop a tape of encouragement in from someone who
always makes her feel better. Our Girl, you know who im talking about...
anyways.. i came across something that all of you should hear, it is a
fairly recent tape, and straight from the horses mouth...  this still may
not make you feel any better, but it was good enough for me to drag my tape
player to work, to record this and get this put up on a site for you all to
hear.  if you cant believe it coming from her mouth, than what are you doing
on this list??  i think we all have our reasons for liking jewel, but most
of us, is because something she has sung, or said , has hit close to home,
and you think "Welp, she does think about the same stuff as I do, and knows
how to express it in a way that i could only dream of being able to do" and
that she is *whisper* --human-- .....  anyways im rambling on, and i just
wanted you guys to hear it...   back to my hole in the woods welp atleast
till tomorrow, when i get out of here for a week, and head to colorado..
