Welllllll... in this wonderful enlightenment period, this emergence of EDA gatherings, and removal of the lingering disillsionment, three of us Austin EDAs met up this weekend to get to know each other, form lasting friendships and hopefully begin the planning of a Texas EDA gathering of GRAND proportions! After all, isnt every thing bigger in Texas? ;c) Soooo Luna, Amias, and me (Tessa) met Friday evening over a lovely italian dinner to get to know each other. Having not met another EDA in quite a while, I had forgotten how wonderful the feeling was when some one else harbors the same admiration of Jewel's many talents and how much fun it was when people caught the sly Jewel references slipped into our conversation. We had such a blast at dinner that we returned to Luna's apartment to hang around and well *blush* watch Jewel recordings. I dont know about the other two, but its been FOREVER since I have even sat down to my tapes. It was sure nice to be in such a lovely company that didnt scoff at Jewel. As if a whole evening (and early morning!) of each other wasnt enough, we grouped up again Saturday morning and made a trek to Fredricksburg, this ADORABLE little German settlement town for some gift shop madness and super huge german HOTDOGS! Yep yep we sure did drag poor Amias through every other shop in town searching for knick knacks and wild flowers... we even were lucky enough to run across this HUGEMONGEOUS wildflower farm and took the proverbial Texan-in-the-bluebonnet-field-pictures! (Soon to be posted up on a web page as soon as they are developed!) THEN, as if that run in wasnt too super cool, we were rushing back home on these cute little farm roads back to the big city and I shook my head in this clouded "I just ate a foot long weenie" daze and could have sworn I saw a llama in a field... oh wait, I DID! "LLLLLLAAAAAMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" I squealed as Luna screeched to a stop and we ran back to the sign reading "LLAMAS FOR SALE" THIS WAS TOO COOL TO BE TRUE!!!!! WAS THIS NOT AN OMEN ?! I mean, what better place to hold an EDA gathering than in Llama-Land? (You may want to visit the archives waaay back or ask any other Harris to explain the significance of llamas to this list) Anyways so when we were just about back to Austin, I mentioned that Dennis (my big brother Harris) and I love to go to this lovely venue on Lake Austin.... and hey, its called "Mozarts" (Jewel has a mention of him in one of her songs, right? how appropriate!) Since neither of them had been, I HAD to take them. This place is too good to pass up! Juice bar, smoothies, coffee, and sinful desserts... and even live music some nights! Anyways so we got to talking about our families, cute love stories we have heard, our past jobs, and every other thing besides JEWEL! Imagine that! so it goes to prove that when EDA's get together... we start out as fans of Jewel and end up fans of each other! Anyways, so I bet some of you are going "Aw man, what does this have to do with me???" WELLLL... this means that sometime this summer of 99, there might just be a gathering for you to travel far and wide to get to! We dont have much information yet... concert dates, or what not, but we DO have ideas and boy do we! Austin has TONS of live music (we do live up to our name "the live music capitol of the world", TONS of awesome restaurants, and TONS of wonderful activities. And it is also at the center of this HUGEMONGEOUS state of ours. So anyways keep your lovely bright eyes peeled for more info as we three (and anyone else who would like to help out any at all [email me!!]) try to get the makings of the "BIG ASS TEXAS EDA BASH" ! Take care and Happy Easter/ Passover *hugs* Tessa the little Harris }angel{ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Apr 1999 00:30:57 PST From: "Jessica Maki" Subject: Old (?) Launch interview Hi-- Earlier tonight I was cruising through NBC's Saturday Night Live site, and somehow (with a lot of clicking being involved) ended up at some site with "Launch" interviewing Jewel. It has one picture of her on the site where the interview is located. I'm sure many of you have already seen or HEARD this particular number of questions that have been shot at her, (not in the literal sense, of course) and I can't say that I've learned anything new about our angel from reading this, but I just thought some of you might be interested. Oh yeah, and it also has some sound clips for "Kiss the Flame", "Hands", and "Deep Water". The URL for those of you who are still wondering is; http://www.nbc.launch.com/Gateway/NBC/SNL/fs_Interview.asp?contentId=98 Enjoy :) - --Jessica, the mischevious, tomboyish, in love angel that likes to "clumsly strum" on her guitar :) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Apr 1999 21:52:07 +1200 From: "Kim Lees" Subject: New Zealand Interviews Now Online !!! Hey Angels, remember a couple of weeks back when I said I'd make all the New Zealand interviews into Real Audio files for my site, well I've finally gotten round to doing it so you can now hear all the TV interviews she did over here as well as one she did on a local radio station here in Christchurch... :-) so I guess my site is a kinda turning into an audio-visual guide to Jewel's New Zealand tour now, cos it's also got some photos I took of her when I got to meet her a fortnight ago... so here's where you'll find everything anyway: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stadium/7485/jewel.html (and by the way, in the radio interview when they mention someone sending a fax in, that was me!!! :-) ) Kim Lees Your New Zealand Angel Standing By (who just became a proud uncle with the birth of his niece Victoria) ICQ# 9270797 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ check out Kim's JEWEL Shrine... http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stadium/7485/jewel.html includes a sounds section of over 100 Real Audio files - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "R2-D2 and C-3P0 were havin' cyber sex But when you throw an ewok in it gets a bit complex Han Solo may have danced But he never got into Princess Leia's pants 'Cause she was too busy bein' such a talker And makin' out with her brother Luke Skywalker" Steve Poltz - "The Star Wars Song" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Apr 1999 15:23:18 +0300 From: "Yigit Erenler" Subject: DSL tabs????
