With spring just around the corner and Jewel actively touring, we hope to see many of her fans get together -- and get active! EVERYDAY ANGELS FOUNDATION MEMBERSHIP OPENS THIS WEEK Amidst talk about revitalizing the EDA community, the EDAF is opening up membership this week. Although we have been working on programs and holding events, we held back formal membership until we received tax-exempt status. Well, that's complete, and it looks like there is a lot of interest on this list in the things we have planned. A seperate post will be made in a few days, giving all the details. While you don't have to be a member to participate in EDAF-related programs, we'd love to see you as part of our organization! EDAF ADOPTS A NJ BEACH, PLANS APRIL CLEAN-UP The EDAF has adopted a beach in South Amboy, NJ and committed to helping keep it healthy with clean-ups every six months. The first clean-up is Saturday, April 24th. We'll provide the bags and such, and together we can reclaim a stretch of our coastline from the ravages of civilization (ie, disposable drink containers!). Last year, we participated in several clean-ups and conservation efforts. If you're in the area, please join us. As usual, there will be fun activities scheduled for after the cleanup, and possibly over the weekend. Email us at EDAFinfo@aol.com if you are interested. More information will be posted as plans firm up. TEAM EDAF PLEDGES TO WALK FOR MS The EveryDay Angels Foundation (aka Team EDAF) is registered as a team in the Jersey City Walk for Multiple Sclerosis April 18th event. This 6.2 mile walk will take place along the boardwalk of Liberty State Park, which features breathtaking views of Manhattan, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. Each entrant must raise a minimum of $35 in donations, so anyone interested in either walking with us or helping sponsor Team EDAF is encouraged to contact us at EDAFinfo@aol.com. This is a national event, and there are similar walks taking place all across the country -- you're almost guaranteed to have one near you. You can enter as an individual, or as a team if you have at least four people walking. If you would prefer not to walk, volunteers are also needed to help with refreshments, registration, etc. Multiple Sclerosis is a horrible disease that usually strikes young people in their 20's! THERE IS NO CURE YET! Anyone who would like more information on this event or MS in general can visit the National MS Society's website at www.nmss.org. We hope all NY area EDA's will join us. The walk is sure to be lots of fun with free refreshments, live entertainment, and prizes, not to mention a bunch of EDAs and friends to walk with. If you want to register as part of Team EDAF, please email us at EDAFinfo@aol.com for more information. REMEMBER, being an everyday angel means more that joining a chat list to us -- it means making a difference, big or small, alone or in groups, while being good to yourself, the people around you, and the environment. Write to us at EDAFinfo@aol.com and let us know what it means to you! The movie is so wonderful. I suggest everyone goes and sees it. Does anyone know if that song with be on the soundtrack? I mean, they played a pretty large portion of the song. I recently heard something about another East Coast gathering. I have only been on the list since June of last year and didn't get the oppurtunity to attend the last one. I live in NJ and Great Adventure (I think that's where you said the last one was) sounds awesome...but is this going to happen again and if so where is it going to be? Cause I know like many others, I'm interested. Email me with any feedback, or post it if you will. Thanks. First of all, if anybody else has a site that they would like me to include a link to, please email me witht he URL at halaasb@hotmail.com. The address is http://members.tripod.com/HalaasB/jewel/enter.html It is a piece of junk at the moment though. I am also wondering if I can serve any purpose in helping the EDA's on my site. Also, do you have a banner that says that you are an EDA or something like that. If not, that would be a cool idea. ok, that's about all from me. Please email me back at halaasb@hotmail.com rather than what I am writting you from now.
