Hi, has anyone of you guys had a look at the Atlantic site again... ? Looks like the J-Team had a talk with the Atlantic guys.. :-) A lot of the dates have magically vanished and the remaining ones got a nice little "TBC" added to them... Also, to the German EDAs, have you noticed the the entry for May 8th ? A gig in Glasgow or TV 'Geld oder Liebe'... (which is a very popular TV show here in Germany, for those who don't know :-) Now, I certainly don't want to rob the Scottish EDAs of their concert, but if it should be decided that she's gonna do the TV show, that were the first time somebody actually used his brains when it comes to Jewel's European promotion activities... So I don't believe it until I see it with my own two eyes... :-) (No offence to the J-Team, but the European promotion in the past has been done in a very clumsy way if you ask me...) Cheers ! (The one with Alanis Morrisette on the cover) Firstly, there's an article talking about the recent trend of parents managing music acts. It opens up talking about the whole manager thing with Inga Vainshtein getting fired and Julie Agrati getting hired. And how Nedra Carroll oversees the writing and acting stuff. Anyway, it's only about a paragraph or so, but it has a pretty kewl picture of Nedra and Jewel looking at a portrait of a blond girl (presumably Jewel and presumably painted by Nedra.) The second mention is in a aritcle about the state of the "rock star" as an icon today. And Stephen Malkmus of Pavement lists JEWEL as his favorite present rock star. Pretty kewl, right? Anyway, just wanted to share. I have the "hey hey its saturday" performance of Down So Long and an interview with Molly Meldrum on "the Drum" on video. the interview was a little so so like someone has already pointed out, jewel looked a little uneasy at first though that was probably more to do with molly than anything. as well as the interview, there was the clip of Hands, part of the WWSYS video, part of some old footage of jewel performing WWSYS solo and part of a duet with Steve on YWMFM. the interview went for 20 minutes. they should get her on "The Panel", that would make for a great interview. well if anyone has any news, could you drop us an e personally. thanks heaps. Hi and hello everybody, I was at work this last Saturday and our drum instructor(FYI-this is a music store) Rich says(being the big Jewel fan that I am) "Alex, you ever heard this Jewel song before? I having to learn it for a group I'm in." So he sticks it in the tape deck and it sounds like Jewel's voice but I haven't ever heard the song before. It sounds like it was produced in a studio w/ piano as the accompanyment. All I could remember is somewhere in the song a few times, the singer says goodbye to Cici(Cee-Cee). I was flabbergasted by the song. Could this be something from long ago or is my buddy Rich wrong? I got alot of replies most of them from people willing to give rides. It's way to early to start working on things right now (everyones letter starts I'm going to try to make it). In about a month probably a bit longer I'll post to the list with a form for people to fill out, that's when things will really start.
