My friend sent me the Much Music recent-est interview with jewel, and i watched it today. i was surprised the interviewer didnt even know Jewel lived in her van! Hmmph, i think interviewers should do more research! but all and all, it was a pretty good interview. I find Jewel repeats herself a lot tho. She says that "find where hope is possible line" a lot, i think. Its not a bad thing, i just noticed it. anyways, by all. Ami p.s. whats going on with the EDA cover tape 2? Remember a few days back I said Jewel Standing By would be open on Monday?? Yeah?!?!?! Well, I lied. I didn't get it quite finished by Monday night, and I just uploaded it in all its splendor! So, if you looked at all Monday, it was still the old version. Please, please go visit and tell me what you think. I've worked long and hard at it and would really appreciate some constructive feedback. Thanks so much for all your support and patience, and now I give you the new Jewel Standing By!!! http://fly.to/jewel.jk This V3 URL often slows down the loading time of the page, so if you have problems try this alternate address: http://www.infomagic.com/~doskocil/jewel/jewel.html If anyone has links they would like to submit for review, I'm still looking for additions to my links page. Also, any guitar tabs sites are urged to send me links! Thanks so much for going! Be sure to check out the new graphics in Oil-Streaked Daisies, and the new RA in Real Audio! Bye crazy angels!!! Well, on the anniversary of JewelStock in '97, Mark Nissley (otherwise known as Crunch :-) asked who was interested in communing at the original campsite used by many who attended the original JewelStock. So that those who did not attend the original Jewelstock did not feel excluded, we decided to simply call it Bearsville '00 (insert year ;-), rather than a JS reunion. So, for the last two years a good 30 to 40 of us have been trekking it to the Bearsville area to celebrate the anniversary of JS and just bask in the company of our fellow EDA's - and if any EDA should happen to get shot, so be it ;-) (Don't worry, we only had laser guns - heh). Anyway, any and all EDA's are welcome to attend - as the event comes closer, I will certainly post more info, but since I know some of you may need to give work, family, or whomever advance notice, I thought I'd send out a reminder of the event. If you really need more info or something, you can e-mail me about this event at BRSVL99@aol.com - please do not respond to this address as the e-mail would very likely be overlooked! We had a great time the last couple years and I hope to see all the same old tired faces ;-) and lots of new ones!!!! Hello fello angels! I'm *really* new at this, so I'm bound to screw up more than a few times...bear with me =) I actually posted this from my other email address earlier, but my computer crashed and I don't know if it actually went through =) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there knows Jewel's projected tour dates for Canada..or atleast for her US tour. Most of her sites have tour dates for other countries, but I'm wondering if any of the angels out there have the inside on her Canadian visits. Also--does anyone know if she's doing LIlith Fair '99????? One last thing... Everyone's been mentioning her song on "Clueless" lately..so I had to mention that her angelic vocals are also on "the Craft" (you know..that witchy flick) in a song that I believe goes by the name "water under the bridge". You probably all knew that, but just in case..I had to mention it =) One more question for the road: Anyone know the projected release date of Jewel's new movie???? Had to ask!! As for the inquiry about Much Music...it's a Canadian channel (17 on cable in ontario), which is why there was probably some confusion about it in a post or two. Think Canadian equivalent of MTV and you've got Much Music. Any Toronto area angels that would be interested in getting together--> email me personally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats wierd. got me thinking that would be cool. so doesnt anyone else think that would be cool if there were folks like us who could play and sing Jewel half decently? that'd e great ~Dan~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Feb 1999 20:44:53 EST From: SynicalJen@aol.com Subject: EDA: Bearsville 99 Where is Bearsville? Hey dearest EDAs... I changed my AOL screen name and didn't rejoin the list til now... 'cause I'm such a ditz that I forgot how to. Thanks, Scott, for putting me on the right path... :) So my question is, I'm playing Race Car Driver, but the only chord I can't figure out is G#, in the chorus, like it said on the site I found the chords off of. Anyone know how to play a G#? Tell me, please... I'm dying to know. I can play the rest of the song... Love you. *niina* - -a random angel- ------------------------------ Date: 3 Feb 99 04:59:03 MET From: "Dr.RomeAntic" Subject: Jewel's popularity in Europe Hey ya angels!! Well I gotta say here in Slovenia she's not like a superstar, but Foolish Games was on mad rotations on radio and Hands can be heard every now and then as well... Spirit was on TOP 10 best sellers list for a few weeks... and there was even an add on TV, promoting her album wich I couldn't believe... it was the first such add ever... so she'd doing pretty good over here considering how small Slovenia really is... only 2MIL people... and since I just like 5 minutes ago finally caught with my digests, after being almost 2 months behind (yes I've been reading for hours these past few nights)... I just wanna give my lil' comment on Jewel's performance on Conan (which is by far my favorite talk show - cause the Conan, Andy and Max are totally mad - and they crack me up by just looking at the camera)... When he announced her I was going please do Don't So Long.... no more Hands... please introduce the next single in style - on Conan first!... well I thought it was one of her best TV performances ever... sure her guitar was hard to spot... but she sang it out amazingly (I know it's hard getting over the fact that the best part of the lyrics is missing - but let's just pretend that never existed for a sec) ... and also there was STEVE for god's sake... was it just me or he had a BLAST... if Jewel looked like she enjoyed it... Steve looked like he was having time of his life... like his album just went platinum (on that subject... One Left Shoe must be the most underated/overlooked album of the year IMO). I can only hope Steve stays in the band throughout Europe and Jewel plays close enough so i can go see the concert... and if Steve would be so kind to even stay an opening act on European tour... well my cup would be FULL for a while!!! :)) Have fun and stay beautiful Dr. RomeAntic, an angel with the worst stroke of luck "Don't you think that it's about now That you cooled your operations And be generous somehow Don't you think that sarcasm Is a little hard to stomach The cynicsm's boring How do you feel" Catherine Wheel / Here Comes The Fat Controller / Adam And Eve Catch Dr. RomeAntic's cyber image @ http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Metro/2009 ____________________________________________________________________ Get free e-mail and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 03 Feb 1999 16:08:41 -0600 From: Louise Subject: Finding Wizard of Oz Concert Video in PAL format for this poor little Aussie...
