As I was watching TV today, I came across a commercial for VH1 showing Jewel sitting around a campfire with her dad, playing guitar. Needless to say, I stopped flipping channels and immediately became entranced. The ad was for the VH1 show, Behind the Music, a 1hr. program I believe. It just kills me how she can look so sweet and innocent one moment and then so seductive the next...And her music is great too,ha. No I swear, I'm a fan of her music, first. Well, I was wondering if anyone had a tape of this special...I'm not sure if this is an upcoming show as it showed her playing Hands, or if it's an old show as I know she was on 11/16/97. In either case, I would LOVE to have a tape of Jewel, if someone would be willing to make a copy for me (I'll pay for all shipping). I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. For those of you interested; I was just at the book store today and I came across a book called Outrageous. It's from the makers of US magazine. It's a hard cover book with a great deal of pictues of various people from music and movies. There is one picture of Jewel, the one where she is "hugging" a tree. The book is a nice book if you like pictures, but it wasn't cheap. I think it had a list price of $29.99, but they always discount that price. Well I just thought I would pass the word on. Oh one other thing. I also went to the library and decided to look through the Billboard magazine they had. It was the Dec. 19 issue. There was a nice article about Jewel. Since I have almost no memory of things I read, I can't remember much of what was said, but it was nice. Well I guess that is it. Have a nice day.... This commercial is simply one of many new VH1 Promo Spots that recently began airing. There's several others, all done in that same black & white style featuring other artists. It's NOT a commercial for a Jewel special, Storytellers or Behind The Music show as many of you asked. It's simply a promo for the VH1 Network. For those who've not seen it, it features Jewel, her dad Atz & her younger brother Atz Lee sitting around a campfire. Jewel & Atz talk briefly about the unstable nature of musicians & cowboys & then Jewel is shown briefly playing "Hands" solo acoustic. You'll see similar VH1 spots by Mariah Carey, John Mellancamp & a few other artists. I believe Jewel's spot was filmed last October.
