Today's Subjects: ----------------- Jewel mgmt needs help with 1999 Tour Book content [Mike Connell Subject: Jewel mgmt needs help with 1999 Tour Book content Hi folks :-) Well, this is the new "EDA Project" that Alan mentioned in his posts earlier today. Simply put, Bibi (Jewel's Creative Director) is now designing the tour book that will be on sale during Jewels' 1999 tours of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, North America and anyplace I may have left out. Instead of just having lyrics from the new album in the book (which anyone can get from the CD or various web sites), they want to include many profound and/or thought provoking, silly and/or bizarre or any other kind of quotes, stories, sayings etc that Jewel wrote or uttered that may be perfect for this book. (of course, it will be chock full of about 60 photographs too.....they plan on a 48 page book right now) All told, she wants a good 120 or so Jewel quotes, Jewelisms, sayings, stories and whatevers. Who knows all of the best of these tidbits other than the 2,700 or so of us EDAs? A special AOL address has been set up for your submissions, but first there's some necessary "rules" we'd like you all to follow, so that it can assure that the best items that suit this purpose are submitted. *First rule....PLEASE do not use anything that is already on Albert Wang's Jewel Quotations page at http://hugse1.harvard.edu/~wangal/jewel.html Bibi has already perused that site and has gotten the ones she likes from there. Sending in identical items from that site will only increase her workload as she would have to read them again (and again and again and again.....assuming more than one person would send in the same item). So we *please* ask of you, before you send in your submitted item, check out Alberts' page (if you have web access) and make sure you don't send in something already on that site. (If you don't have web access, send in what you want) **Second rule....the quote (etc) must be able to stand out on it's own. If the quote is an answer to a question it must be able to read clearly without knowing what the question was - it MUST stand on its own. The quotes/stories/Jewelisms can come from songs, poems and other Jewel thingies....quotes from TV appearances, magazine/newspaper articles, concerts or anywhere you heard/read Jewel say something profound, silly, intellectual, thought provoking, life changing, dorky, vulgar, nice or whatever. (how's that for a mouthful?? ;-) "Yo Mike! Where do we send these quotes etc?" Hang on....I have two more rules yet to come :-) ***Third rule....all items must be submitted by noon PT/3pm ET (USA) time, this Sunday, December 20th. ****Fourth rule....one of them "I like this rule" rules....you can send in as many items as you like. However if possible please send them all in the same email or limit the number of emails by bunking your items up. OK, now you can ask where to send your submitted item. "Alright....where do we send them duckboy?" Please send all submitted items to JKquotes@aol.com Do NOT send them to me or Alan, send them to JKquotes@aol.com Again, all items must be sent in by noon Pacific Time (USA)/3pm Eastern Time this Sunday December 20th. Will, that's it. Hop to it :-) Mike **** a couple of Jewel quotes for ya...... "God damn ye Harris Brothers!" - Jewel at JewelStock night #2 - July 19th 1996, Bearsville NY Where MrBB got his name.... JewelStock night #2....during a quiet moment between songs when Jewel and the band were performing, Alan requested "Carnivore!" in his usual bellow..... Jewel replied (jokingly, in a funny voice): "Not now! Mister Bossy Bossy! Just because he was here last night he thinks he knows ALL the material" ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #709 ***************************
