Alex ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Dec 1998 20:26:34 EST From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB-Re: Jewel catalog question...(Cowgirl Shirt info too) Hi all, As promised here's an answer to Michelle's question about the discontinued "Cowgirl Shirt" in the new JMerch catalogue & how to request a catalogue if you've never filled out the form at Jewel's website or written the PO Box. (If you've done either of the above in the past few years, you will recieve a catalogue automatically.) First, if you'd like to recieve a catalogue & cannot go to Jewel's website, you can order one via a toll free phone call weekdays 9:30am to 5:30pm PST. During those hours call 1-877-295-3935. This is a toll free number. Once you get the machine, follow the prompts to JMerch & then to "request a catalogue". That simple. Other options give initial Higher Ground For Humanity info, catalogue phone ordering & there will soon be a "Tour Dates" option as well. Last night Michelle asked about a specific item in the catalogue that has no detailed description because its on the "discontinued items" list. It's called the "Original Jewel Cowgirl Shirt" & it sells at a lower price of $12.00 while supplies last. For those who don't remember this shirt, it was one that was sold during her 1995 & early 1996 tours. Its very simple & comes in Green, Brown, Tan & Maroon. On the front is wriitten simply : Jewel (in small lettering in the pocket area). On the back is a cowgirl figure with hat, etc. I was told that quantities are very limited on this & that they're simply moving out this old item at a lower cost to finish up with them. Have a good night, MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Dec 1998 19:25:49 PST From: "Greg White" Subject: About the article from globe and mail. Hi everyone I'm sorry, but I must say this: >she behaves a lot as you'd imagine an indulged young pop star would, >refusing to shake hands, dismissing her middle-aged handlers in >haughty tones and, when the phone rings, lifting the receiver and >immediately hanging up with an impish giggle. >"That was my next interview," she said with a smirk. "He's thinking, >'Whata bitch!' " Does anyone else here find it hard to belive almost every single word of this article?? Especially this part. I just find it hard to belive that her personality fluctuates that much. Compare this article to the Rolling Stone article. I just don't get it. Feel free to mail me with what you think! :) Greg Live Bravley, love bravley. Fulmer" Subject: NJC: Living Room Concert Hello Everybody, I'm writing to invite you to a Living Room Concert at my apartment in Reading, Pennsylvania on January 16th, 1999. One of our very own, Kelly Gallagher will be performing her original work, and she will be opened by her friend Mike Berkowitz. He plays a little different style than Kelly, as he is heavily influenced by the Counting Crows and Matchbox 20. Kelly has played at a variety of EDA events in the past, and at the Steve Poltz LRC in Hanover, PA, I had the opportunity to hear her. I find it hard to describe her music, but it's excellent :) As for cost, we understand not everyone is rich, so it's potluck. If you have it and you want to give it, give it. But if you don't have any money, don't feel bad. Come along and listen. Listed below are the info: Who: Kelly Gallagher with Mike Berkowitz opening for her What: Living Room Concert Where: The Living Room of Seth Fulmer 1515 Hill Road Apt A-22 Reading, PA 19602 When: January 16, 1999 at 8:00 PM It's a Saturday for you who have to travel so you can arrive any time Why: To have fun How much: However much you feel like donating How long: As long as you wish to stay If you would like to come, can you let me or Kelly know(privately) so that we can get a better estimate of how many we can expect. Please tell your friends as well. Also, if you would like to attend but need a ride, and/or crash space...limited crash space is available and I can try to help you find a ride from those who are coming. I hope to see you on January 16th. Seth D. I just wanted to first of all, send my heart felt condolences to Jewel and her family for the lose of her grandfather. Next, I just got my copy of Rolling Stone today, (finally, yea!) and if you haven't had the chance to purchase it I recommend you do! It will be on sale all this month. It contains a great article and some really cool photos of Jewel. It is one of the best articles I have read about her. I would love to talk about it a little more but I have tons of studying to do. Finals are coming up! I'll write again soon! Have a great night or day, (depending on when you read this). :o) Sunshine and Flowers, Rachel ~the soaring Angel~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Dec 1998 19:46:39 -0800 From: Dan Subject: RE: Hipocricy? Hello, I think what Jewel means is that for the most part everyone is ok. No one is perfect or doesn't have at least one bad part to them. She uses this line to add hope, and show a sign of respect. I think she could have as easily said, "If I could tell the world just one thing, it would be that we need some help." Except she wrote in a different way that showed more respect, but still showed that everything is not great or perfect. I was thinking about the line >where >Jewel says "If I could tell the world just one thing, it would be we're >all okay.". On PoY she made it sound like some of us aren't "good >people" >because some of us are racist or against a certain group of people for >superficial reasons. I mean, yeah, I think it is stupid to hate someone >(or a group of someones) because of superficial stuff, but those people >that do that are okay; they can think what they want. Is that what she >was saying? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Dec 1998 22:40:07 EST From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB-Re: Condolence messages Hello all, Quite a few have passed on condolences for me to relay to The Kilcher Family following the news of Jewel's grandpa Yule Kilcher passing on. (Yule Kilcher is survived by his 6 daughters, 2 sons & too many grandchildren for me to remember, Jewel being one.) I'll of course pass on this thoughtful EDA message so no need to send me any more. I'm sure they'll appreciate this without reading individual messages during this time. I do appreciate the thoughtfulness from those of you who took time to send a condolence message already, butI hope you understand why I prefer no more. If you feel compelled to do something, I'd suggest a minute of reflection or if possible, call your grandparents just to say hi.
