I think she was trying different tones or something but I think she varied her voice a little too much. I still loved the song, but I was dissapointed with the interview, or lack of it... (in good ol' chronological order :-) ****** Tomorrow!! - in a mailbox near you: Beginning tomorrow, November 28th *thousands* of Jewel fans worldwide will start to receive the long planned and long awaited newsletter/catalog that's been delayed since before most of you even heard of Jewel. Included in this paper newsletter/catalog is a note from Lenedra (Jewel's mother/manager) about their Higher Ground For Humanity organization (by the way, the official abbreviation for this organization that you'll see from now on is HGH). Also, of course in this newsletter/catalog is a massive amount of Jewel merchandise. So those of you who have not been able to order online, will now be able to do so through normal mail :-) Who is going to receive this newsletter/catalog? From what I was told, everyone who has ever sent regular mail that had a return address and everyone who has ever sent Jewel email through the official Jewel website at http://www.jeweljk.com and filled in their name and address in the boxes provided. If you think you should get one, but do not get one for some reason, you will also soon be able to order one of these newsletter/catalogs via a toll-free telephone number mentioned on the Jewel website. (The phone number will be posted on the list when it is ready to take orders for the newsletter/catalog) ****** Monday, November 30th - New York City - (closed to the general public) Jewel will be performing at the Creative Coalition at the Pierre Hotel. (From the New York Post newspaper) The host will be Nathan Lane, with awards going to Mary Steenburgen, Ted Danson, Jane Alexander and John Sykes...... ****** Wednesday, December 2nd - Jewel will most likely NOT be on the Regis And Kathie Lee show. The show contacted Jewel's agent about booking that date, and it has not happened and most likely will not happen. They have also contacted Jewel's agency about a possible booking later in the month. Stay tuned :-) By the way, has anyone out there EVER found an official web site for Reeg and Kathie? If so, can you please send me the URL? (I've searched a few times in the past, with no luck) ****** Wednesday, December 2nd at 8:00pm ET - Jewel will perform at the Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center in New York City, live on NBC television. (it's the first ever national broadcast of this event, this being the 66th one) Please note - the "events" start at 7:00pm ET for a New York City television station broadcast which is available only in New York City and the stations' cable television affiliates, however I do not know which station. I've been told that Jewel will perform one song in each program. Other performers on the NBC show are Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and Babyface (no relation to our own EDA, Chelsface). ****** Thursday, December 3rd - The year end, double-issue of Rolling Stone magazine will hit the news stands. Jewel will be on the cover and will be the feature article/interview :-) ****** Thursday, December 3rd and Friday, December 4th - Toronto, Canada - I have no specific details other than what Wojtek posted earlier today, but I do know there's LOTS more than what he posted. Jewel will be in Toronto all day next Thursday and Friday making several television and radio appearances. More information *may* be on the official Jewel website soon, but maybe not. In the meantime I suggest that Toronto EDAs do some digging and post whatever information they find. She has been contacted but has not yet confirmed. She will perform with a 100 piece orchestra and 40 member choir. At this time it is not known where else besides Europe the broadcast will be seen/available, nor whom else will be performing (there ARE other performers), but I am certain we will find out well enough in advance. This is all I was told about this performance/broadcast. ****** In the latter half of January, Jewel will be on a promotional tour for radio and television executives/personnel in Europe. This swing does NOT include any regular tour dates. (There is no information available about when a regular tour in Europe may occur) ****** Tour information, including *confirmed* dates and venues for Jewel's February tour in Australia and New Zealand will be on the Jewel website soon. It is nearly certain that Steve Poltz will be along on this tour, which WILL include the full band. ****** Information regarding Jewel's March/April(?) tour of Japan, Singapore and other Far East nations will be announced on the Jewel website as they are confirmed. Steve Poltz will very likely also go on this Far East tour. ****** The next North American tour will not begin until next summer. Well, that's about it for now.
