Dear all you wonderful EDA's (LOL :), I need some angel food!!!! So, if anyone has any tapes, videos, anything of Jewel please post or e-mail me seperatly. The only Jewel tapes/CDs that I have other than POY and Spirit are Jewelstock and Jewel Rocks The Paradise. I would really love it if whoever has Saturday Night Live Tapes with Jewel on or Jewel related skits, any type of angel food tapes (FF3, RareAngels, etc), any tv interviews or radio interviews, to please e-mail me. Thanx so much. I am collecting Jewel things and would like a big collection as we all would. LOL Also, whoever has any magazine articles of Jewel please tell me where I could get them or if they have an extra copy please tell me! (You don't have to answer that!!!:) Have a great day/night, Rachel The Always there for you Angel! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Nov 1998 23:15:32 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: Some news from MrBB and Jewel's management Howdy folks :-) Last night I talked with Alan (MrBB), who is currently in San Diego at a four or five day "retreat" that the J-team (Jewel's management & Jewel ) has been having....celebrating the release of Spirit, a little fun in the sun, meetings, brainstorming, playing Twister and planning out the agenda past 1999 and into the year 2000. Thusly, I have some information on Jewel TV appearances, "Jewel & the EDAs", MrBB and www.Jeweljk.com . TV STUFF: Reminder...... this Friday mornings 's Today show on NBC . It IS confirmed, Jewel will be on and it will be *live*. The show starts at 7:00am Eastern US time, but Jewel is not *scheduled* to be on in the first 90 minutes, but she has the WHOLE last half hour....from 8:30 to 9:00am!! Just to be safe though, I'd tape the whole show if recording. (sounds like this is a "can't miss") While Jewel's appearance at the December 2nd Christmas Tree lighting (televised on NBC) IS confirmed, the Regis And Kathie Lee gig that same morning is NOT confirmed, and in his words "it seems unlikely". Her appearance on The View on December 16th is also not yet confirmed, but it seems "likely". THE OFFICIAL JEWEL WEBSITE REVAMPING ( http://www.jeweljk.com ): Stay tuned and check the website as you wish, but it may be another week before the "new" Jewel website is launched. They have TONS planned, some of it quite slick, but it seems they want most of it up and running (and debugged) before it's unveiled. I've been watching the progress on the prototype site, and while it is progressing nicely, there's been a few bugs here and there and it just takes time getting it all to work at least somewhat smoothly on various browsers etc . Be patient :-) JEWEL, JEWEL'S MANAGEMENT and THE EDAS: Contrary to what some doomsayers have been predicting, Jewel is NOT losing contact with the EDAs because of the "loss" of MrBB's frequent informative posts to this list. If anything, I honestly see it increasing. Many of you new folks here, for obvious reasons do not know "list history" well, as anyone in a new environment would not know that environments' history. Heck...some newcomers may not know what "EDAs" means. Basically, it stands for "EveryDay Angels", which is what term Jewel herself first used to refer to this lists' members a few years back. It's a term or endearance she had for them, a thanks for their support long before most of us here now had ever heard of her. So, now-a-days people refer to the members of this list as EDAs, as it's easier to say "hey EDAs!" than it is to say "hey list members!" Anyway, getting back to Jewel's contact with the EDAs.....while Jewel's history with this list is not exactly chock-full of interactive occurrences, there have been more than a few including (but not limited to) the JewelStock concerts in 1996, the EDA/EDAF/Future Folklore event at Java Joes in San Diego at Thanksgiving '97, and of course last week's EDA filled event live on TV at MTV Studios for "Jewel TV". They want me to let you all know that yes, Jewel and Lenedra still love the EDAs, and they "have lots of upcoming plans involving the EDAs and the (this) list". There IS more to come :-) Please note, I myself only know *some* quite vague and sketchy details, and cannot reveal anything, so please do not ask. (I WILL say *none* of what I've heard involves a major list topic of late.... a JewelStock 2, which also does NOT mean that they aren't thinking of one in the backs of their minds, all I am saying I have not heard any mention of one) MrBB: All new plans change to some degree.... While he still is no longer going to be able to give us the usual and frequently informative Jewel news posts (this, because of his expanded duties with the J-team and the Jewel website), he told me he does plan on tipping us off once in a while about major news posted on the Jewel website. (i.e. "Yo! EDAs! I just put up Jewel's tour info on the Jewel web site....go check it out!") I am sure that more info on all of the above will be coming shortly. Mike :-) P.S.
