How many of you wrote back? Hi there! What a hidiously ridiculous article that james hannaham wrote on Jewel. I mean.. come on!!! I've very open minded to peoples different opinions on Jewel... if someone says they don't like her, I don't give them a bunch of trouble about it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but HECK......... what was THAT!??!?!?! Um, bashing. Not only Jewel, but her fans. And ALANIS too?? This guy must think he's God in order to rise so high above people who are obviously a lot better off in life than he is. :)) Sheesh..... Well anyways, I was just curious about the number of people who were considering standing up for jewel.. After all, at the bottom of the article a "please tell us what you think" and e-mail address was given for responses. Did anyone (besides myself) write and give THEIR opinion on the article and Jewel? It's coming around steadily, but the last I was told is that it could be sometime mid next week, or perhaps up to two weeks. (those on the list a year ago might remember that back then the present website was to start up mid-October, and it didn't get launched until early November) They don't want to unveil it until all of the areas have some meaningful content in them, and some of them are pretty much empty right now. Sit tight, and when it's unveiled, I'm sure someone will spot that quickly and post about it. Mike :-) P.S. Well, I am living here in Colorado Springs and you know what? I wasn't able to attend the first JewelStock, which I am really sad about, so what I am going to do is, no matter what it takes, I am going to attend JewelStock2, I don't care where it is, or how far I have to fly, I will be there. The only question I have, should we send like a petition or something to Jewel's management to request a JewelStock2 or something because I have never had the pleasure of seeing Jewel Live, so I bet I am missing out on one of the greatest things ever. EDA's should also have somewhere to meet when there (if there) is a JewelStock2 so we can all enjoy Jewel together. Well, Hope to hear from ya. First off even though it was stated earlier, hats off to Mr BB for the devotion & love he has shown for this list & the people on it. When I was not chosen for the for the studio audience at MTV, I was very upset & I was seriously considering chucking the whole EDA thing for good. When I watched it that night, I, of course got reminded what it's all about. I was very happy seeing my buddies that did make it & was excited for them. I also reread my BV98 post & reminded myself what it's all about. I've had a chance to meet great people & hope to continue to do so. To all my great friends, I love you all & I hope you guys can forgive my momentary lapse into selfishness (it happens once in a while). But rest assured knowing I ain't leaving you guys!!! I'm here to stay, no matter what!! Special "I Love you's" to L & J for being there above & beyond the call of duty. I just got Spirit & have yet to listen in it's entirety. I'm sure it's a great record. I'll talk to you guys soon & give you my report from the KISS Psycho Circus Tour. In case you're not so familiar with "the village", it's an area in New York City known for open-mindedness...a young trendy and/or hippie crowd, and a very large gay population. The general atmosphere of the Village (and The Village Voice) is almost the antithesis"bible thumpin', Jesus-crispie." Although I suspect the writer was being serious about the dangers of complacency, I think the chances of this article having any serious religious overtones is almost nil. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1998 21:45:21 -0600 From: "Michael Santos" Subject: JewelJK.com vs Jewel-web.com Howdy ya all, Jewel-web.com is up. "Jewel" was singing a duet with Ana Gastyer as Celine Dion. Love Hewitt started singing YWMFM (pretty well, I might add), until Celine Dion cut in and started doing some pretty spiffy riffs. Celine Dion's CD was called "More Duets that Prove I'm the Best Singer in the World." I have been a member of this list for 3 years now. I never post anymore, and that is partly due to the fact that I simply do not like who Jewel has become. But this post forced me out of my hole, partly because 2 years ago, on this very day, I wrote a post to this list threatening to commit suicide because I was ugly and nobody in my 8th grade class liked me. I got through that period because of the support of the EDAs...back then, we really WERE a support group for one another. Things have vastly, vastly changed, and it is for that reason that I stay away from posting, because I think flame wars are stupid and I wouldn't want to (heaven forbid) start one. I know I would, but thats beside my point. Greg, Tom, Jared, Crunch, Pat, Selena, where ARE you guys!?! I miss you, get in touch w/ me (on my other screen name...Chelsface@aol.com) but anyway I digress...it shouldn't matter what Jewel wears...it shouldn't matter if the new record sounds like shit...what matters is there was a reason you guys got into her that went deeper than how big her tits were or how "come hither" she looked in the YWMFM video...she touched something really deep in every one of us...thats why you're here...thats why *I* am still here...remember that.
