I feel like she is leaving that behind, even though i know she isn't, and even though she might be as honest on Spirit as on POY, that maybe the sound won't be there. She said the EDAs were special because she inspired us, not because we idolize her. The problem is so many people now idolize her and spend their lives sayign "Oh I got to meet Jewel because she's my idol". That is why the EDAs are no longer special, because the majority idolize her instead of taking her message and saying "I'm going to go and make something in the world based on Jewel's messages". A real EDA would not want be so involved with meeting Jewel rather than spreading her inspiration across the world. I think that Jewel has a very rare talent. And she should be admired for what she has been through and her talent rather than what she wears, or how she looks. If you really take the time to sit and read the lyrics or poems it will give you a whole new respect for the person that she is. NOT THE CLOTHES SHE WEARS. Well I got the awesome chance to meet Jewel, and she is just a person... not some god like creature that you can not get near. She is very approachable. And if you talk intelligently to her she will return the converstaion. So it just gor\es to show that she is JUST another person who happens to have a beautiful voiced and an awesome way to express herself! Thank you for you time... I pranced on down to the mall and good ole' Sam Goody as soon as I got off from school, which was at 1, today being one of those Early Release days, to my pleasant surprise. I got my Spirit here with me now.... A bit of a review: Deep Water - Well I liked this.... "When you're standing in deep water..... drowning in deep water....." etc. It was nice. What's Simple Is True - Is this an old song? I'm not sure... Being the embryonic EDA that I am, silly me, only joined the list about a year ago... A hint of bitterness there... heh. Hands - Having heard this before, not much of a surprise. Kiss The Flame - Loved this one. It had a nice feel to it. Down So Long - Ahh! I'm so happy she decided to include this on Spirit. Such a gorgeous song, with the "bo boo bi doo yeah" in the beginning and all... :) Innocence Maintained - Didn't really like it... It was sort of....uh.... confused... lack of adjectives there. It sounded scattered. Though my Real Audio version is lovely. Jupiter - Liked it a lot. The lyrics are beautiful.... Fat Boy - Though a crude title.... Back to the acoustic Jewel... heh.... I love it. Enter From The East - one of the songs I was anticipating highly... Though she sings it much louder on my RA version. I'd have preferred it that way. Barcelona - Nice. Life Uncommon - I liked this one.... It was quiet... Do You - My favorite of the new songs. Wonderfully thoughtful lyrics. This Little Bird - a special little treat... The harmony was nice. Alright. My thoughts on the MTV thing? A bit of dancing there on Hands also.... the song was sung quite nice, though I think Hands isn't really a "live" song. Jewel was quite funny, random, picking at Carson Daly's eyebrow and all... Ha when Carson thought she was making a "Jewel Joke" about Marilyn Manson.... heh.... that made me laugh. Alright. Let me go byebye now. *niina* a random angel ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #626 ***************************
