Subject: MrBB- EVERYONE PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS 

Hi everyone,

     This is one of the longest (& most difficult) posts I've
ever written. Please, do me the favor of reading it in its
entirety. There's information here that is significant to 
EVERY single Jewel/EDA list subscriber.

     As Jewel's new album is released, the "J-Team" is about 
to take another big cyber-step by making the official Jewel Website 
something great; a place you will love & want to visit all the time. 
They want Jewel's website so exciting & informative, that you can't 
stay away! Much more on this, but first.......
 
   As Jewel's redesigned & improved official website is unveiled Tuesday, 
I'll also be forever changing my relationship with The EDAs. I want to 
impress upon you that I am definitely NOT abandoning you, but a major 
change will be happening. 
 
     The major change I speak of is that I'll no longer be posting 
any Jewel news (or answering questions) on the Jewel list or 
Jewel news list, as I've done for the past few years. Although 
I've usually enjoyed being your messenger, its time I also take 
the next step. 

To make things much more comfortable for me & simultaneously
make "being totally up to date" much easier for all web-capable 
Jewel fans, I've been invited to post all my up to date
ACCURATE info directly on Jewel's official website from now on. 
On the site, I will try to be just as informative as I've always been. 
It'll simply be in a more visible, appropriate & accessible location. 

"MrBB info" will soon be accessible 24 hours a day, independent of
these wonderful mailing lists, on Jewel's site. You'll soon
have no need to be wondering what is going on "Jewelnews-wise"
or have any reason to email me questions because you'll soon be able 
to pop in for your daily visit at the official website and find 
"MrBB's Headline Jewel News" (or something to that effect)
on a DAILY BASIS most of the time.

Once the redesigned & improved website is up & running, all I ask 
from you is to refrain from sending me private emails that don't pertain
to private correspondence of mutual interest. Any Jewel-Info 
related questions should ONLY BE DIRECTED TO THE LIST. I'll still
be subscribed to it, & with your moderator's help, I'm
sure to get important questions. I'll do my best to answer
relevant EDA questions by posting those answers ON JEWEL'S 
OFFICIAL SITE. I will no longer be accepting questions via
personal email or answering them on the EDA or Jewel-news 
mailing lists.

Basically, we hope my part of this next step will accomplish two 
important things:

1) We want to have accurate new information more easily available 
to more people & to have recent info always accessible 24 hours a day
at Jewel's website.

2) We want to greatly reduce my never ending email flow from EDAs 
privately replying to my informational posts with more questions
as well as eliminating EDAs repeatedly sending me questions that 
I've already answered. Due to my other responsibilities, I'll no longer
be able to reply to these as I've done in the past.

(Notes of personal elaboration on #2----This has been an ongoing 
dilemma for some time, because I like & respect you far too much 
to ignore/delete you, but in total, its just way too much. I enjoy 
some private correspondence, but I want it to be enjoyable and/or 
intellectual, if it can't be plain funny. One Jewel question after another 
gets to be a drag pretty quickly, if ya know what I mean, & I've 
been doing that for several years. I've always tried my best to be 
helpful in private email correspondence with EDAs, but the sheer 
volume has become more than one person should deal with. I saw 
that situation dramatically worsening once the album is out & 
countless new EDAs sign on. This is why now is perfect timing
for a relatively smooth transition.  I hope you understand & see 
the logic in this.)

The newslist is what will primarily  be affected by this change
as it will soon consist of only "non-official" (or 2nd hand EDA" cut
& pastes" of official) posts, once I begin posting news on Jewel's
website exclusively. Some "news-only" subscribers may consider 
unsubscribing & simply visiting the site at their convenience. 
It'll be MORE up to date than the Jewel-News lists at all times & that
may eliminate some subscribers to Jewel-News only.

I hope the EDA & Jewel Digest lists will be unaffected for the most
part & continue to be one of the friendliest places on the Net, as they
have been since the beginning.

I also hope that you'll soon agree that this will be far better & more
fun for everyone, in the long run. And I can simply be a subscriber to 
the lists & enjoy them like everyone else!

    Now, onto other great things you can count on! There's going to be 
many new things you will all definitely enjoy at Jewel's website. 
Here's but some of the things to look forward to in the very near future:

- ---An enhanced Gallery with ever changing NEW Jewel photos in 
addition to the new & improved scrapbook photos. This will also 
soon contain MULTIMEDIA including exclusive video clips & streaming 
real audio clips of archived recordings.

- ---An improved Calendar section that we'll now keep up to
date all the time for instant confirmation of tour dates, TV
appearances & media events. (Ah......I needn't express how handy
this will be :-)

- ---Jewel Poetry, Lyrics & Journal musings

- ---THE FIRST & only totally accurate, in depth Jewel history. 
This will be done in regular continuing ongoing installments 
over the next year or more. It's focus will be to explain the various 
influences & events that have had profound effects on Jewel's music, 
writing & creativity while giving you totally accurate biographical 
information for the first time anywhere. It will also leave you laughing
at all the major mistakes in every previously written unauthorized 
Jewel biography. Its full of surprises no matter how much you think you 
know! I can promise you that!

- --- Higher Ground For Humanity. Learn all about Jewel & Lenedra's
foundation & how you can help in your own communities.

- ---The Jewel Store- MANY new products, crafts, clothing (& previous
specific EDA requests!) will all soon be available & viewable online.
If you're into Jewel collectibles, t-shirts, posters, stickers, etc, you'll 
find all that & much more easily orderable online, via mail or phone.

- ---MrBB's Headline JewelNews -where I'll keep you informed as always,
separate truth from rumor & generally be my happy self.

     These are but a few of the things to look forward to soon

  Many truly great events have occurred since AmyJo & I began 
lurking about on this Jewel list in 1995. All the great people we'd 
soon call friends......Jewelstock......almost 50 "Living Room Tour"
gigs!.........
The EDAF & many wonderful acts of kindness......countless get-togethers, 
concerts & parties......"Future Folklore"...... Wow!
   Who could have guessed all that would came from a simple 
subscription to a mailing list for a young songwriter who's first album 
was going nowhere fast (at the time)!!!???      Truly amazing!!

I want you to know this is not a goodbye. I'll occasionally 
still join in discussion to the EDA list, but now it'll simply 
be as a participant when the mood strikes. I simply won't be 
posting news & information anymore on the mailing lists. I'll basically 
get to be a normal subscriber again, just like everyone else!  
Yeeha!!!  I've really missed that & wanted that again for a long time. 

I'm still as dedicated as ever to things like The Living Room Tour,
Future Folklore,  & events/actions that help other artists of interest
& get people together for real. It was great timing that I could help 
that to happen again in NYC for this MTV thing before this big change. 
Getting away from your computers & getting together for real is what 
its really all about! THATS what makes the EDA experience special for 
me & I'll continue to promote these & other worthwhile activities as 
much as time allows. I consider myself very lucky to have met 
so many of you in person. I hope to meet many more of you & make 
many new friends over the next few years.

As "Spirit" is released, this becomes a transitional time for all of us. 
We'll all be working together as a team to make Jewel's website
much more fun & educational for all of you. Jewel & Lenedra will be more
involved. Bibi will be creating wonderful multimedia content for you.
West will continue to feature his beautiful photography. Jon will be 
designing many eyecatching routes for you to travel on. Jewel 
Merchandising has many great new things to introduce. Jewel & Lenedra's 
Higher Ground For Humanity Foundation will become a reality & 
I'll do my best to continue to keep you the most informed of all Jewel fans. 

We'll all simply take this next big step together. All of what's being 
done is being done with you in mind, the online fans. It's going to
be a little while before everything on the site is the way we'd like it to be,
but give us a bit of time to get our footing & then I hope we do you proud!   

I'll see many of you in NYC Tuesday as we all celebrate the release
of "Spirit". To the rest of the EDAs--

   Here's today's current Media update info for Jewel.         MrBB

- --Soon/Date unknown - MTV 1515/News Updates - Jewel content will be 
included on this MTV news program. I'd guess that a segment on "Spirit"  
release is likely on Tuesday & another segment this coming weekend covering
both that & all of the EDAs infiltrating MTV on Tuesday.

- --Soon/Date unknown - Access Hollywood (various times/various networks)
This has not aired yet. Jewel & Lenedra will soon be featured on an upcoming
Access Hollywood segment. It was filmed on 11/5 at the March Of Dimes Mom's
Awards Dinner in San Diego. We don't know which day/night it will air. 
Check your local listings from here on out to be sure. 

- --Monday, Nov 16-Radio Station Interviews-Jewel will continue doing call in
interviews to various major US radio stations as she did last week.
No list of stations available. (One post mentioned a live "in studio"
WPLJ FM in NYC appearance tommorrow, but I cannot confirm this.
It's certainly possible as she is in NYC.)

This discussion thread was funny the first five times Jewel dressed 
provocatively or wore heavy makeup. This time around though, it's nothing 
short of BORING...

A simple suggestion for all you Jewel fans -- buy the CD Tuesday, take it 
home and play it through a couple of times. Read the lyrics while you're 
at it. THINK about the lyrics. Then ask yourself if her leather miniskirt 
means a rat's ass to the music, or more importantly, the MESSAGE behind 
the music.

You will either get the point she's trying to make, or it will go sailing 
over your head. If you miss it, I hope you have a friend around to 
explain it to you.  ;-)

Finally, garner whatever enjoyment you can from Ms. Kilcher, whether it's 
enlightenment from the message, toe tapping from a catchy verse or two... 
or fantasizing (or bitching about) what's behind the leather miniskirt.

YOU get to decide which one most interests you...

Hello. I don't post here very often. But I felt like throwing in my $0.25.

Jewel on SNL.
1) That is the first time I've heard "Hands" (I don't listen to the radio
much) but I LOVE it! It's got, to me, a slightly different "feel" than the
songs on POY, but it's still VERY Jewel.

2) Her look on the show can be summed up in two words: incredibly sexy! And
why shouldn't she be allowed to look sexy? She's human. Good enough for me.
Let her wear what she wants. I'd be lying if I said that the first thing my
room mate and I noticed wasn't her incredible legs (I'm male... Sue me...
:) ).

3) I'm looking forward to seeing her other appearences this week. :) And,
no, not because of the skirt. ;) Truth be told, she could dress in a track
suit and I'd STILL find her one of the sexiest women alive.
